Youβll notice I talk A LOT about ADOT this week, and for good reason! As we get further into the season, understanding the roles and usage of players is extremely important. It can dictate how a player does against specific defenses and whether they have a higher upside or a solid floor on a weekly basis. Because I tend to build my βcampusβ rosters around the WR position, possessing this information can be invaluable as we make decisions through the middle and end of the season.Β

Wow. Thatβs my only reaction to our first 20+ target performance of the season, courtesy of Nate McCollum. Analysts argued about the roles of McCollum and Paysour this season. If this performance is any indication, Team McCollum was probably correct. Operating out of the slot, McCollum sported an ADOT over 10 and racked up almost 50 yards after the catch, a deadly combo. McCollum is a must-add if heβs floating on your waiver wire.
Now that we have a few weeks of evidence, I feel comfortable projecting or confirming some of these WR rooms with two fantasy-relevant players. At Georgia Southern, Khaleb Hood is the guy seeing underneath work out of the slot, which makes him a very nice floor play on a weekly basis (ADOT of 7.8). Burgess is the boundary guy who tends to win deeper downfield. Burgess should provide maximum upside, but if Hoodβs price is cheaper, Iβm happy to acquire.
I love seeing my top two CFF receivers, Tory Horton and Malachi Corley, make this list. Corleyβs production didnβt waver following his return from injury, even against the most difficult opponent on the schedule. In my yearly bold predictions article, I projected 125+ receptions for Corley. He probably wonβt hit that mark after missing 1.5 games, but he can continue that pace moving forward. Colorado State seems to have figured out their quarterback situation, which is great for Hortonβs target volume.
Two Virginia receivers on this list are fairly surprising to me. Maybe Virginia found something in freshman quarterback Anthony Colandrea, who has not looked out of place through two starts. His 41 attempts this week could be an outlier due to the game script, but I donβt feel comfortable projecting Malachi Fields or Malik Washington moving forward. Another big week and Iβll reconsider.
Shoutout to Erik Brooks and LaJohntay Wester, two players weβve highlighted in this section before. As Iβve stated before, both are buys for contenders.
