Pittsburgh announced Thursday that transfer running back Desmond Reid will start for the Panthers. Despite being in his first season at Pitt, Reid had a leg up on his backfield mates as he spent two prior seasons at Western Carolina with new offensive coordinator Kade Bell.
Reid beats out incumbent Rodney Hammond for first snaps with the offense, but that shouldn’t eliminate the possibility of a split. The former WCU back has been a value all offseason, and despite being listed at 175lbs, he is an electric playmaker in this offense.
Reid is not ranked at Campus2Canton and should stay on waivers until otherwise noted. For DFS and weekly props, Reid should have a strong game against Kent State.
