The 2025 NFL Draft is in the books, and the biggest wave of free agency is over. That makes it a perfect time to take stock of NFL rosters as we head toward the 2025 season. Over the next few weeks, I’ll look at the quarterbacks, running backs, and pass catchers for all 32 NFL Teams. I’ll be ranking each unit 1-16 in their conference. When taking stock of the whole unit, it’s not just about star power but depth. Today, it’s the second half of the quarterback rooms in the NFC. Teams appear in ascending order.

#8 Philadelphia Eagles

On the Roster: Jalen Hurts, Tanner McKee, Kyle McCord, and Dorian Thompson-Robinson

About: This is no knock against Hurts. He’s a great quarterback, probably one of the best in the NFL. But behind him, I have questions. The Eagles are the last of the NFC teams with a solid starter and unproven backups. They have the best starter, so they’re the highest on my list, but that keeps them at No. 8.

Yes, McKee had a decent start against an underwhelming Giants team in Week 18. But that’s not a lot of experience for the sixth-round selection out of Stanford. Thompson-Robinson has some starting experience from Cleveland, but it wasn’t impressive. And I like McCord as a sleeper pick this year, but he’s also unproven. There’s potential in the room behind Hurts, but they remain unproven.

#7 Green Bay Packers

On the Roster: Jordan Love, Malik Willis, and Sean Clifford

About: The Packers have jumped up this list over the past few years. All that has to do with experience. Love has two full seasons as a starter and has shown himself to be a more than capable starter. Then last year, the Packers traded for Willis just before the season began. It felt like a curious move. Early in the season, Love missed time, and Willis stepped in. He went 2-0 during that crucial stretch, throwing for 550 yards and three touchdowns. That answered any questions about whether he was a capable backup. Clifford remains a developmental player, but between Love and Willis, the Packers feel like a team in decent shape.

#6 Arizona Cardinals

On the Roster: Kyler Murray, Jacoby Brissett, and Clayton Tune

About: Murray remains an enigma. He’s been a solid starter who earned a long-term contract. He has been a solid fantasy asset, too. But he still has yet to throw for 4,000 yards in a season. Is he the right fit for the Cardinals? Can he guide them to a title? We’ll find out.

But this year, the Cardinals added Brissett, a veteran with extensive starting experience, as the backup. They still have a development guy in Tune, too. That gives them a solid group. I waffled between the Cardinals and Packers, but the collective experience gave Arizona the edge.

#5 New York Giants

On the Roster: Russell Wilson, Jameis Winston, Jaxson Dart, and Tommy DeVito

About: I get it if you think the Giants are too high. If you looked at this list, each of the teams below them has at least one player who is better than any player the Giants have. In this case, the whole’s strength is greater than its individual parts.

Wilson has a Super Bowl ring and has been a solid veteran. His play has been unspectacular on the field, and he’s been frustrating off the field the past few years, but he has skill and experience. Winston also has experience, making him one of the better backups in the league. Then the Giants added a first-round pick in Dart. He’s likely to need some seasoning, but that adds to the depth and options for Brian Daboll.

Finally, we have DeVito. Will he make the final roster? It feels like a long shot right now, but he’s better than the third QB for most teams and has some starting experience. Overall, that puts the Giants in a strong position to begin the season.

#4 Carolina Panthers

On the Roster: Bryce Young, Andy Dalton, and Jack Plummer

About: Young didn’t have a good rookie season and didn’t start year two hot, either. In fact, he found himself benched early in the season. But he regained the starting position in Week 8, and from that point finished as QB12. That shows signs of promising growth and progress.

The Panthers also have one of the most experienced backup quarterbacks in the league in Dalton. The Red Rifle may have lost a step, but he’s still a great option if you need a guy to come in. All that was enough promise for me to elevate the Panthers on this list.

#3 Los Angeles Rams

On the Roster: Matthew Stafford, Jimmy Garoppolo, and Stetson Bennett

About: The Rams have an excellent top two that bring a lot of experience. Stafford is a long-time veteran and a Super Bowl winner. Garoppolo is one of the better backups in the league. He’s taken teams to the playoffs and NFC Title games. Durability has sometimes been an issue, but he provides good insurance as a backup. Bennett is entering his third season, still having never seen the field. He’s a development project, but the top two are strong enough for me to land the Rams here.

#2 Atlanta Falcons

On the Roster: Michael Penix, Jr., Kirk Cousins, and Easton Stick

About: The Falcons have a great duo at the top of this room, for now. There are persistent rumors that Cousins will be moved. If that happens, this unit’s weapons will be substantially affected. Penix was a first-round pick who performed well in three starts in 2024. He has the team’s confidence, but had durability questions coming out of college.

Stick has some experience with the Chargers, including some starts for the Chargers that weren’t great. Still, it’s some experience. But Cousins, with a wealth of quality starting experience, props up this room. As long as the Falcons go into the season with him as the QB2, this will be a team that’s hard to beat.

#1 Washington Commanders

On the Roster: Jayden Daniels, Marcus Mariota, and Josh Johnson

About: Talk about going from the outhouse to the penthouse in a short period of time. I liked the selection of Daniels last year, but I wanted to see him prove it. He turned in a season good enough to become Offensive Rookie of the Year and to get his team to the NFC Championship Game.

Behind him, the Commanders have a great veteran in Mariota, and a very experienced player in Johnson was added. Daniels is the star, but the strength of the room is enough to vault them to the top.
