DraftKings has blessed us with great pricing for what I believe is the best slate of the weekend. The “best” matchups on a weak week 2 slate come at night, so get those kids down early and be ready to watch football by 7:30 pm ET. Here’s who I think you should be rooting for when you turn on that television…
Quarterbacks
Jayden Maiava ($9,000), Jackson Arnold ($8,500), and John Mateer ($8,300)
Maiava is coming off an extremely efficient game against Missouri State and now gets a Georgia Southern team that should keep the game closer for a little bit longer. It’s a near 30-point spread, so expect a lot of USC points led by Maiava. His rushing continues to be limited, but he continues to find the end zone, scoring five times on 22 attempts at USC.
Arnold had himself quite the game against Baylor, all coming on the ground. It’s unlikely he runs 16 times for 137 yards and two touchdowns again, but it’s great to have that type of upside. Ball State got tortured through the air against Ryan Browne of Purdue last week. With Auburn’s weapons outside and Damari Alston being questionable, you’d think there will be plenty of passing with a good enough dosage of Arnold on the ground.
