The NFL Draft is rapidly approaching. The draft kicks off on Thursday, April 23, and will last three days, with hundreds of prospects added to the 32 NFL teams. This is a big time for dynasty, too, as landing spots and paths to touches can impact prospect value. Over the next few pieces, I’ll be looking at NFL teams with a positional group need that could make for a good landing spot for prospects.
Today, I’m looking at quarterback rooms. It isn’t a deep quarterback class, and few of the prospects are regarded as having a chance to make an impact on the field—or with your fantasy team—in 2026. Below are ten teams that could be looking to snag a quarterback at some point. I have them ranked by the appeal of the landing spot.

#1 Las Vegas Raiders
On the Roster: Kirk Cousins and Aidan O’Connell
About: The Raiders have the first overall pick, and conventional wisdom has been that Klint Kubiak will get a new franchise quarterback. It’s a near lock that Fernando Mendoza lands in Las Vegas, barring some kind of trade. But will he play quickly? Mendoza is likely the best lock-in rookie drafts for 2026 production, but it might not be in Week 1. Kubiak has noted that he doesn’t love the idea of starting a rookie in Week 1, and with Cousins now signed, he doesn’t have to. Still, unless the Raiders are competing for the playoffs, I think we’ll see Mendoza at some point. We’ll probably see him before Halloween.
#2 New York Jets
On the Roster: Geno Smith, Brady Cook, and Bailey Zappe
About: The Jets had Tyrod Taylor and Justin Fields to split time in 2025, and both are gone. The team is starting over, but it’s possible the focus is more on the 2027 quarterback class. The Jets made a trade to bring back Geno Smith, giving them a starter. But there’s not a lot on the roster. It would make sense to grab a quarterback in the Second or Third Round who could serve as a QB2. And if the Jets are out of the running, I could see that player getting a start. The Jets hold a pick at the top of the Second Round, which could be a landing spot for Ty Simpson.
#3 Arizona Cardinals
On the Roster: Jacoby Brissett, Gardner Minshew, and Kedon Slovis
About: The Cardinals released Kyler Murray this offseason and seem content to roll into the season with Brissett and Minshew taking the lead spot. But they need a long-term answer, and new coach Mike LaFleur could well look to grab a prospect in the draft. Could Arizona trade back into the First Round for Ty Simpson? Could they target Simpson, Carson Beck, or Garrett Nussmeier in the Second or Third-Round? It feels like both options are on the table.
#4 Miami Dolphins
On the Roster: Malik Willis, Quinn Ewers, and Cam Miller
About: The Dolphins are in full-on rebuild mode. Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, Darren Waller, and Tua Tagovailoa are all gone. The team and new Head Coach Jeff Hafley brought in Willis as the starter. I don’t think they’re looking to replace him in this draft, but given the scant options behind him, the Dolphins seem like a prime candidate to use a later pick to grab a quarterback to add into the mix. The team doesn’t figure to be great, so no matter who is taken, it’s a low ceiling opportunity.

#5 Los Angeles Rams
On the Roster: Matthew Stafford and Stetson Bennett
About: At one time, Bennett seemed like a potential quarterback of the future. That time seems to have slipped away. The Rams—a contender for the Super Bowl—are absolutely not looking for a quarterback to start. They probably won’t even take one that will play during the 2026 regular season. But most believe the Rams need a quarterback of the future. With the team currently only having two quarterbacks on the roster, it would make sense for them to use a mid-round pick on a quarterback. That player would be a good stash, but little else in 2026.
#6 Pittsburgh Steelers
On the Roster: Mason Rudolph and Will Howard
About: The elephant in the quarterback room in Pittsburgh is Aaron Rodgers. Is he coming back? If so, he’s locked in as the starter. If not, it’s a wide-open room. New Head Coach Mike McCarthy has sung the praises of Howard as a prospect, but that’s an unproven commodity. Still, between Howard and Rudolph, the Steelers need options. I wouldn’t be surprised to see the team use a mid-round pick on another prospect. Perhaps Penn State product Drew Allar would fit here?
#7 Cleveland Browns
On the Roster: Shedeur Sanders, Deshaun Watson, and Dillon Gabriel
About: The Browns have three quarterbacks on the roster who have all started games in the NFL. Two of them were taken in last year’s draft. The other is the veteran Watson, who some have reported is likely the starter. The Browns don’t have a great room, but they are often rumored to be in the quarterback market in 2027, when Watson can come off the books. That makes the most sense. But this being Cleveland, I wouldn’t be shocked to see a mid-to-late round pick used on yet another quarterback.

#8 Indianapolis Colts
On the Roster: Daniel Jones, Anthony Richardson, Riley Leonard, and Seth Henigan
About: This is a sneaky spot where a quarterback taken could see the field. Jones is recovering from an Achilles injury and is likely to miss the beginning of the season. The coaches seem to have soured on Richardson, who is on the trade block. Leonard could be a guy who gets a shot, but it’s no lock. I could see the Colts grabbing a player to add to the mix that ends up getting some time on the field. It’s a low-percentage chance, but it exists.
#9 Denver Broncos
On the Roster: Bo Nix, Jarrett Stidham, and Sam Ehlinger
About: Nix is the franchise guy for the Broncos, and despite a postseason injury, he should be back for Week 1. Stidham is the long-term backup and should be a solid QB2. So, why are the Broncos on the list? There have been rumblings that Stidham is on the market. If he is indeed moved, or they think he’ll be moved, the Broncos could use a mid-round pick on a developmental quarterback to serve as a long-term backup for Nix. They could do it anyway since Stidham is a free agent after the season. This isn’t a great landing spot for fantasy.
#10 Green Bay Packers
On the Roster: Jordan Love, Desmond Ridder, and Kyle McCord
About: The Packers are on this list for much the same reason as the Broncos. They saw their backup, Malik Willis, sign with Miami this offseason. They have prospective options in Ridder and McCord, but are they sold? We’ve seen the backup be an important position for the Packers the past two seasons. If they see a player, they like to drop to the right range. I could see the Packers taking a swing for a key reserve.
