The Year 1 Zero Report is designed to identify highly recruited freshmen who may not post a traditional breakout season but still show early signs of future fantasy success. Rather than focusing solely on dominator rating or big freshman year production, the report tracks eight attainable production thresholds across receiving, rushing, scrimmage touches, and return production.
The idea is simple: if a player is talented enough to earn meaningful opportunities as a true freshman, even in a crowded depth chart, that early involvement can signal future development. Each week, we’ll track which freshmen have reached these benchmarks, which players are approaching them, and which prospects are beginning to emerge as potential sophomore breakout candidates.

Kayden Dixon Wyatt, WR, USC
Kayden Dixon-Wyatt made his mark against Fresno State, playing 78% of USC’s offensive snaps while working primarily at the X receiver position. He finished with 6 receptions for 102 yards, averaging 17.0 YPC with a long of 31 yards.
The strong workload and explosive production make him the second USC freshman to clear Year 1 Zero thresholds, joining Trent Mosley. USC’s true freshman receivers both topped 100 receiving yards in the game, with Mosley finishing with 4 receptions for 104 yards and 2 touchdowns. That marks the first time two USC freshmen receivers have each topped 100 receiving yards in the same game since records were first kept in 1973.
Other Notable Names
Kenny Darby, WR, Kentucky
Kenny Darby was one of 247Sports’ preseason True Freshman All-Americans entering 2026, and he immediately showed why in his debut. The Kentucky freshman played 34% of the offensive snaps and was used primarily in the slot, finishing with 3 receptions for 74 yards and a touchdown while adding 9 rushing yards for 83 total scrimmage yards. His 37-yard touchdown was the biggest play of the day, while he also had a 33-yard reception on Kentucky’s opening drive. Darby already reached 74% of the 100 receiving-yard Year 1 Zero threshold in his first game, while his 83 scrimmage yards put him well on his way toward the 115-yard threshold.
Chris Henry JR, WR, Ohio State
The true freshman made his collegiate debut against Ball State, playing 80% of Ohio State’s offensive snaps and recording 1 reception for 15 yards and a touchdown. His first career catch came on a 15-yard touchdown late in the fourth quarter. The 80% snap rate is particularly encouraging for a true freshman and indicates Ohio State was comfortable giving Henry a significant role immediately.
TK Keys, WR, Tennessee
TK Keys made an immediate impact in his Tennessee debut against Furman, playing 47% of the Volunteers’ offensive snaps and catching 2 passes for 29 yards and a touchdown, including a 22-yard touchdown reception from George MacIntyre. He was listed as a co-option at the third wide receiver spot on Tennessee’s Week 1 depth chart, making his production on a 47% snap share particularly encouraging.
