While we play the long game, week-to-week performances can drive long-term shifts or offer clues about future value. That’s what the Stock Watch is all about: tracking week-to-week value shifts to stay ahead of the curve when it comes to moving and acquiring players. Below is one player at each key fantasy position who improved in value and one who saw their value take a hit. Let’s dive in.
Quarterbacks
Stock Up: Michael Penix, Jr., Atlanta Falcons
About: The Falcons looked about as bad as a team could look through two weeks. But some urged patience, since we hadn’t yet seen Penix. Setting aside the fact that he wasn’t incredible in 2025, it didn’t make sense that Penix would lift the Falcons’ offense that much. Well, turns out he did. Penix returned Thursday night, and the Falcons hung 35 points on the Packers in Green Bay. That was after not having a single snap in the Red Zone the first two weeks of the season. It wasn’t an incredible game by Penix, but he made the most of his running game and made the timely throws needed to get the Falcons back on track. It was a glimpse of a player who could be fantasy relevant heading into the heart of the season.
Stock Down: Drake Maye, New England Patriots
About: Maye was the runner-up for the NFL MVP in 2025 and guided the Patriots to the Super Bowl. This season, he’s looked like a one-man turnover machine. He completed less than 50 percent of his passes and turned the ball over multiple times in a shelling in Jacksonville on Sunday. That’s three putrid games in a row to start the season, which begs the question of whether it’s going to be a lost season or a sign of bigger issues for Maye. Either way, if you drafted him hoping for a QB1, it’s time to make other arrangements. At least until A.J. Brown returns and we see if this pass offense can get on track.
Running Backs
Stock Up: Jaylen Warren, Pittsburgh Steelers
About: The Steelers have had a rough start this season. Through two games, the offense looked stagnant and struggled to get going. On Sunday, against a strong Cincinnati Bengals defense (editor’s note: no such thing! Lifetime Bengals fan), the Steelers scored 30 points. A big part of that was Warren’s steady running game: 127 yards on 17 carries, plus 49 yards on three receptions. Playing without Rico Dowdle, the Steelers finally had a solid running game, and Warren showed he could thrive in this Mike McCarthy offense.
Stock Down: MarShawn Lloyd, Green Bay Packers
About: At some point, you have to stop trying to make Fetch happen. In this case, Fetch is Lloyd, who we’ve hoped would step up with Josh Jacobs out of the lineup. Instead, he hasn’t made much of an impact. He has just 68 yards on 23 carries in three games. He’s added four receptions for 13 yards and a touchdown, which helps, but it’s just not good enough to warrant having him in your lineup.
Wide Receivers
Stock Up: Jordan Addison, Minnesota Vikings
About: The Vikings saw Justin Jefferson exit with an injury on Sunday. Still, the team moved to 3-0 with a win over the Buccaneers, thanks in large part to Addison, who stepped up and showed a good connection with Kyler Murray, who returned to the starting lineup. Addison caught five passes for 90 yards and a touchdown, leading the team with nine targets. He looks healthy and is settling in as a prime target once again in this pass offense.
Stock Down: Rashid Shaheed, Seattle Seahawks
About: When Shaheed was traded from the Saints last season, it seemed like he would be the needed pop for the Seahawks’ offense. It never really materialized despite a run to and through the Super Bowl. It still hasn’t materialized in year two. While Jaxson Smith-Njigba is thriving and Cooper Kupp has been a great possession option, Shaheed has been little more than an afterthought. He has just six receptions for 53 yards in three games. He’s always a threat for a big score on offense or Special Teams, but he’s not getting enough volume to justify a consistent starting spot in your lineup.
Tight Ends
Stock Up: Harold Fannin, Jr., Cleveland Browns
About: The Browns are finally cooking. After looking cooked in Week 1 in Jacksonville, the team has rattled off wins in Tampa Bay and at home against Carolina. And Deshaun Watson is looking solid as the team’s quarterback. A big part of that is Fannin, who is proving his rookie year was no fluke. He caught seven passes for 51 yards and two big touchdowns. He’s one of the steadiest lineup options from the Browns.
Stock Down: Kyle Pitts, Atlanta Falcons
About: While Penix helped the Falcons’ offense come back to life, he did little for Pitts. Despite earning a new contract this off-season, Pitts hasn’t been a factor for the Falcons this season. He has just two receptions for 20 yards so far this season. That’s simply not good enough to warrant a spot in your starting lineup.
