Which moves should you make to maximize your points? Use this weekly post as your guide, as I offer one start and one sit suggestion at QB, RB, WR, and TE. These suggestions are based on my rankings compared to the consensus each week. To measure our success, check back each week for a recap of how I did.
For this project, a start is a player I think will finish in the Top 12 at QB or TE and the Top 24 at RB or WR. A sit is a player I think will finish outside those metrics. In the coming weeks, I’ll start with a recap of how I finished the prior week. All scoring will be courtesy of Fantasy Pros.
Before we move forward, let’s see how we did in Week 7.
Week 7 Starts
QB: Bryce Young, QB24 Miss. Young and the Panthers fell apart in Tampa Bay.
RB: Ollie Gordon, RB15 Hit. Gordon has been in a groove.
WR: Christian Watson, WR25 Miss. That cuts deep.
TE: Sam LaPorta, TE42 Miss. He didn’t get the volume.
Start Record: 1-3
Week 7 Sits
QB: Bo Nix, QB3 Miss. I don’t believe what I just saw.
RB: Josh Jacobs, RB8 Miss. He wasn’t good on the ground, but the passing touchdown bailed everyone out.
WR: Brian Thomas, Jr., NA. I need to learn to read a schedule.
TE: Travis Kelce, TE20 Hit. The Seahawks kept him in check.
Sit Record: 1-2
Now, on to the Week 8 picks!
Quarterbacks

Start: Kirk Cousins, Las Vegas Raiders
About: The Raiders started hot, going 3-0 out of the gate. They’ve since lost four straight and are fading in the AFC. That led them to question everything, including turning to Fernando Mendoza. The thing is, Cousins isn’t the problem. He’s QB4 on the season, and he’s been great. He’s starting against the Jets, and I expect him to keep it up. I also think the Raiders will get an elusive win.
Sit: Kyler Murray, Minnesota Vikings
About: The Vikings are the lone unbeaten team at 6-0. They are also playing a Detroit defense that hasn’t been great this season. All that should be encouraging, except Murray has been nothing special for the Vikings. He’s QB32 on the season, not doing much as a passer or a runner.
Running Backs

Start: Bucky Irving, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
About: The Buccaneers got back on track last week thanks to Irving, who is pounding the rock. While the offense and defense have struggled, Irving has quietly been RB13. He’s the best part of the offense, and with the team having a chance to get back into the division race with a win over the Falcons, I think they’ll lean on him again. I’m firing up Irving.
Sit: TreVeyon Henderson, New England Patriots
About: Despite his talent and boom potential, Henderson has fallen out of favor in New England. Rhamondre Stevenson leads the way, and Korey Kiner has even started getting more carries. That leaves Henderson as an upside player who has no path to touches. He’s on my bench.
Wide Receivers
Start: Zay Flowers, Baltimore Ravens
About: Lamar Jackson might be back this week, but it hasn’t mattered for Flowers. He’s the best and only consistent passing target for the Ravens who has managed to thrive despite the quarterback and situation. He’s WR6 this season, and I think he’ll keep it up and keep the Ravens in it this weekend in Buffalo.
Sit: Ladd McConkey, Los Angeles Chargers
About: The Chargers are a mess. But McConkey, when available, is their best receiver. Coming off a bye, he should be back in the lineup Sunday. But the Chargers are playing a determined Rams team with some great corners. I’m not trusting McConkey or any Chargers receiver for now.
Tight Ends

Start: Brock Bowers, Las Vegas Raiders
About: Much like Cousins, Bowers hasn’t been the problem for the Raiders. While the team has found a receiver in Tre Tucker and has used Ashton Jeanty well in the passing game, Bowers is still the No. 1 guy. Don’t overthink it. He’s a starter in New York.
Sit: Colston Loveland, Chicago Bears
About: I love Loveland’s talent and his potential to explode with Caleb Williams in this offense. But the Bears are on the road against the Seahawks, who just dismantled the Kansas City Chiefs. I think they will keep a lid on the Bears, which has me worried about Loveland’s potential volume and production. I don’t trust him as a Top 12 option this week.
