Week 1 has come and gone; now it’s time to get ready for Week 2! With only four games on the slate for Friday night, let’s not get fancy, build the best lineups to get the W, and build that bankroll.
Kansas @ Coastal Carolina (-25) (O/U 52)
Kansas
Yes, they won. No, I wasn’t impressed. I’m staying away from the players on this team. They racked up a total of 244 yards (163 passing, 81 rushing). Coastal Carolina won’t be as kind to them.
Coastal Carolina
QB, Grayson McCall ($8900) was nearly perfect in his outing vs. The Citadel on Saturday, going 16/19 for 262 yards and didn’t even finish the game. The most expensive quarterback on the slate, but rightfully considering the opponent. The Chanticleers will also be looking to improve their national ranking.
McCall has his fair share of options, but WR, Jaivon Heiligh ($8000) will be his primary target. Heiligh had 6/133 and 1 TD on 7 targets. An excellent value for this game will be RB, Shermari Jones ($4000), who rushed for 100 yards on just nine carries and added 2 TDs to go with it. Stacks on stacks on stacks!!!
North Carolina A&T @ Duke (No Line)
North Carolina A&T
Look for Duke to get out to an early lead and force QB, Jalen Fowler ($5700) to have to get his team back in it in the air as well as on the ground. Duke allowed 324 passing yards and 154 yards to Charlotte last week, so Fowler will have plenty of opportunities to put up decent fantasy points regardless of the game’s outcome.
Duke
I don’t care where you roster RB, Mataeo Durant ($6900), whether at running back, the flex or super-flex position; he must be rostered this Friday! He ran for 255 yards on 29 attempts and added 3 TDs. QB, Gunner Homberg ($7000) is salaried right in the middle and could be a good play as a super-flex option. North Carolina A&T gave up 362 passing yards and 3 TDs through the air in last week’s loss. I wouldn’t be surprised if Homberg improves on his career-high 228 yards with a 146.4 passer rating.
North Dakota @ Utah State (No Line)
North Dakota
If you’re looking to fill that last roster spot, take a look at RB, Otis Weah ($5400). He had 22 carries for 114 yards to go along with 3 TDs. Definitely someone to target as you’re finishing up your lineup/s.
Utah State
I’m not looking to roster either QB, Logan Bonner ($7300) or QB, Andrew Peasley ($6400) this Friday, as both shared snaps in last week’s game against Washington St. WR, Deven Thompkins ($7000) should be rostered in this game as he will be the primary target for either QB. He led the Aggies with 94 receiving yards on 8 receptions.
UTEP @ Boise State (-26) (O/U 56)
UTEP
UTEP has managed to put up 30+ points in each of the two games they’ve played this season. With the total set at 56 points, I like their players at the skill positions to produce against Boise State. QB, Gavin Hardison ($5900) comes into this game after throwing 432 yards in 2 contests with a 186 passer rating. Boise State gave up 318 passing yards to UCF, in their only game of the season. Hardison will have plenty of opportunities throughout this game and I like his value at QB.
RB, Ronald Awatt ($3700) will be the lead back in this game with Deion Hankins likely out. How can you not roster him considering the other two running backs are questionable for this game? Boise State didn’t seem interested in stopping the run against UCF, as they gave up a total of 255 yards on the ground to the Knights.
Boise State
Boise State looks to get their first win of the season this Friday, after they blew a 21 point lead to UCF. This last game on the slate provides a good stack with QB, Hank Bachmeier ($7200) and WR, Khalil Shakir ($7500) leading the offense for the Broncos.
Bachmeier had 39 passing attempts with 25 completions for 263 yards. Shakir didn’t disappoint in his first game, amassing 91 yards and adding 2 TDs in the losing effort. With stud RB George Holani out, the BSU running backs were ineffective against UCF. I’m not interested in this backfield and expect the Broncos to make noise primarily through the air.
