Ah yes, Week Zero. For some, the lack of a blockbuster matchup may deter them from tuning in while they wait for the “real” college football season to start in Week One. However, those of us who play DFS know better. Week Zero is hallowed ground ripe with opportunity for the teams blessed with the early matchup. It’s the first slate of the season and the first chance for us to dig into our lineup-building process. We can test out stacks, double stacks, and full-game stacks in live action. So, for that reason, let’s dig into which stacks to attack this Saturday.
Western Kentucky
Austin Reed ($9,000) – Malachi Corley($7,600) – Daewood Davis ($4,800)
Okay, we have to get this out of the way up front. The Western Kentucky stack is going to be the most popular stack of the slate, hands down. Many believe that this slate could come down to hitting the right combination of Hilltoppers. They are expected to rack up points in bundles against Austin Peay. The fact that Austin Reed has been named the de-facto starting QB for the season means that his role is locked in as the most expensive QB on the slate. Pairing him with the WR1 and WR2 in Malachi Corley and Daewood Davis just makes sense (particularly in cash). If you’re playing big tournaments, it could pay off to differentiate a bit. Just in case Jaylen Hall, Michael Mathison, or Joshua Simon breaks a big play or becomes a favorite option in the red zone. Expect Davis to be the most owned player on the slate at his bargain pricing.
