The 2024 season is upon us. Are you ready? Hopefully, youβre in for a winning campaign. But those of us who play Dynasty know itβs a 365-day-a-year endeavor. When weβre in season, itβs about patching roster holes and making pickups that can benefit you long-term.
Below are the players on your Waiver Wire that might be worth targeting. As we begin bye weeks, that will be even more crucial. All roster percentages are courtesy of the NFL.
Quarterbacks
Mac Jones, Jacksonville Jaguars
Roster Percentage: 0.1

About: I know Jones wasnβt great on Sunday. He was filling in for Trevor Lawrence, who has an ailing shoulder. Based on reports, Lawrence could be in line to miss the rest of the season now. With the NFL amid bye weeks and a stretch run for fantasy, a lot is on the line, and any starting quarterback is valuable. Itβs not a bad idea to pick up Jones.
Trey Lance, Dallas Cowboys
Roster Percentage: 0.1
About: This is a hedge, but it seems like a worthy one. Lance was terrible in the pre-season but put up some fantasy numbers. The 3-6 Cowboys are fading from the playoff picture, and Dak Prescott is out for the season. It seems more than likely that the Cowboys will want to see what they have in Lance during a regular-season game. Plan accordingly.
Running Backs
Khalil Herbert, Cincinnati Bengals
Roster Percentage: 4.3
About: Herbert seemed to be in line with the Chicago Bears offense for a decent role. But a few weeks back, he was entirely displaced by Roschon Johnson and DβAndre Swift. That led to several people dropping him to make roster space. This week, he was traded to the Bengals, who lost Zack Moss for the year. Heβs not going to displace Chase Brown as the starter, but he should have a role in the backfield, giving him some fantasy relevance once again.
Gus Edwards, Los Angeles Chargers
Roster Percentage: 31.6
About: Edwards is still highly rostered, but Iβve seen leagues where he was released due to injuries and other issues. That made sense as it seemed J.K. Dobbins had seized the big role for the Chargers, and Edwards landed on IR. But heβs back now, and wouldnβt you know, he led the team in rushing on Sunday. Edwards didnβt have a huge number of touches, but it suggests the possibility of a return to a role we thought he might have with the team when he was signed this off-season. Heβs worth a pickup if heβs on the wire in your league.
Audric Estime, Denver Broncos
Roster Percentage: 0.1
About: We have heard Sean Payton talk about getting the rookie more involved for weeks, but it hasnβt happened. It did on Sunday. While Javonte Williams earned one carry, Estime had 14 carries. He led the Broncos in rushing with 53, so it wasnβt a huge day. However, with the team moving into a youth movement and Williamsβ contract expiring, it makes sense that Estimeβs role will grow. He needs to be rostered for 2024 and the future.
Wide Receivers
Marquez Valdes Scantling, New Orleans Saints
Roster Percentage: 0.3

About: The Saints have a lot of openings at receiver. Chris Olave, Rashid Shaheed, and Bub Means are all on IR. The Saints are also a team that likes to go deep with Derek Carr. We saw the perfect marriage of that Sunday as MVS caught three passes for 109 yards and two touchdowns. He should be rostered.
Jonathan Mingo, Dallas Cowboys
Roster Percentage: 0.3
About: The Cowboys traded a Fourth-Round draft pick to acquire Mingo. It might not make much sense, but thatβs an investment in the receiver. He wasnβt active Sunday, but he figures to be a part of the rotation in the future. He should be rostered as the Cowboys begin to look to the future.
Malik Washington, Miami Dolphins
Roster Percentage: 0.1
About: Only two touchdowns were scored in Mondayβs game. One of those was scored by Washington, who is getting involved in the Dolphinsβ offense. He has a rushing touchdown and caught a pass for 17 yards on a couple of targets. Heβs down the pecking order in both the backfield and receiver group, but this is a sign of life that makes him an interesting stash.
Tight Ends
Tanner Hudson, Cincinnati Bengals
Roster Percentage: 0.1
About: Tight end doesnβt provide guaranteed production for the Bengals, but weβve seen tight ends involved in 2024. Hudson stepped up on Thursday night with Erick All now out for the year. Mike Gesicki has a particular roleβone tied to Tee Higgins’s presence or absence in the lineup. Hudson, meanwhile, looks like heβs getting the more traditional TE snaps. Given that, heβs worth a stash.
Davis Allen, Los Angeles Rams
Roster Percentage: 0.1
About: The Rams are closing in on the return of Tyler Higbee and also still have Colby Parkinson, but it was Allen who saw six targets and caught five passes on Monday night. The tight end landscape is often a toss-up, so Allen is worth a deep league stash at this point.
