The 2024 season is upon us. Are you ready? Hopefully, you’re in for a winning campaign. But those of us who play Dynasty know it’s a 365-day-a-year endeavor. When we’re in season, it’s about patching roster holes and making pickups that can benefit you in the long term.

Below are the players on your Waiver Wire that might be worth targeting. As we begin bye weeks, that will be even more crucial. All roster percentages are courtesy of the NFL.

Quarterbacks

Tommy DeVito, New York Giants
Roster Percentage: 0.1
About
: Desperate times. DeVito probably isn’t anyone’s idea of a quality start. However, we have six teams on a bye in Week 12 and six on a bye in Week 14. So, having a starting quarterback for any team in Superflex is helpful. With the Giants benching Daniel Jones in favor of DeVito, he’ll likely be a trendy pickup this week.

Running Backs

Cam Akers, Minnesota Vikings
Roster Percentage: 5.9
About
: Akers has had an interesting year, going to Houston and then returning to Minnesota. But along the way, he’s usurped Ty Chandler as the RB2 for the Vikings. Aaron Jones is still the starter, but Akers is getting involved. In Week 11, he put up enough points to be an RB2. So, he’s worth a roster spot.

Ameer Abdullah, Las Vegas Raiders
Roster Percentage: 0.1
About
: We’re getting late in the season, and there aren’t many options on the wire in most leagues, so you’re looking for anything. Abdullah qualifies as anything. The running game isn’t robust for the Raiders, and Alexander Mattison and Zamir White are probably more likely targets. But Abdullah has been involved in the passing game, including a passing touchdown on Sunday. He’s a deep-league consideration.

Wide Receivers

Kendrick Bourne, New England Patriots
Roster Percentage: 0.1
About
: It’s hard to pin down who to trust in the passing game in New England. We’ve seen DeMario Douglas and Kayshon Boutte involved. Sunday, we saw Bourne take off. He was injured to start the season but was among the Patriots’ top targets in 2023. That makes him worth a stash in deep leagues.

Marvin Mims and Devaughn Vele, Denver Broncos
Roster Percentage: 0.3, 0.1
About
: The Broncos’ pass offense is coming together. Courtland Sutton is the team’s best receiver and their most consistent option in fantasy. But we’ve seen the young receivers coming along, too. That meant Mims had an uptick in targets and carries in his second year. Vele, meanwhile, is becoming a favorite target for Nix, especially on crucial downs. Both have some flex appeal, especially as the Broncos square off against the Raiders and Browns over the next two weeks.

Curtis Samuel, Buffalo Bills
Roster Percentage: 21.9
About
: I liked the addition of Samuel before the season, but his role hasn’t been consistent due to injuries and other issues. In the past few weeks, he’s stepped up as the Bills are making a run toward the post-season. Samuel is worth a stash with rotating injuries in the receiver group, especially as pieces miss time.

KaVontae Turpin, Dallas Cowboys
Roster Percentage: 0.4
About
: The Cowboys are in search of weapons. They traded for Jonathan Mingo, but Turpin made a splash Monday with three receptions for 82 yards and a 64-yard touchdown strike. Turpin is worth a pickup down the stretch.

Tight Ends

Will Dissly, Los Angeles Chargers
Roster Percentage: 12
About
: Dissly has developed a solid role in an improving Chargers’ passing game. He will be a factor as the 7-3 Chargers make a run toward the playoffs. Since the Chargers’ bye week, he’s TE14, averaging more than 10 points per game. He’s a great streaming option.

Josh Oliver, Minnesota Vikings
Roster Percentage: 0.1
About
: Yes, T.J. Hockenson is back, but that hasn’t stopped Oliver from making an impact for the Vikings. Oliver is the TE9 over the past four weeks, which includes the last three games where Hockenson has been active. He even led the tight ends in scoring for the Vikings in Week 11. Oliver is worth a pickup.

Darnell Washington, Pittsburgh Steelers
Roster Percentage: 0.2
About
: Washington is a huge target, which hasn’t escaped Russell Wilson’s notice. In a tight game with the Ravens on Sunday, Washington saw four targets down the stretch, including big conversions on key Third Downs. Washington caught two passes for 42 yards and even saw a Red Zone target. The endzone interception wasn’t great, but it didn’t stop Wilson from returning to him on the next drive. He’s got potential for a team whose targets are still a work in progress.

Luke Schoonmaker and Brevyn Spann-Ford, Dallas Cowboys
Roster Percentage: 0.1; 0
About
: These two make the list because Jake Ferguson was knocked out of Monday’s game with a concussion. We’ve seen players take time to return from concussions, especially on a short week, which is the case for the Cowboys. These other tight ends combined for ten receptions on Monday night, and given the landscape and six teams on a bye in Week 12, they’re worth a stash.
