The 2024 season is upon us. Are you ready? Hopefully, you’re in for a winning campaign. But those of us who play Dynasty know it’s a 365-day-a-year endeavor. When we’re in season, it’s about patching roster holes and making pickups that can benefit you long-term. Below are the players on your Waiver Wire that might be worth targeting. All roster percentages are courtesy of the NFL.

Quarterbacks

Tyler Huntley, Miami Dolphins

Roster Percentage: 0.3

About: Huntley was picked up to add to an uncertain Dolphins QB room last week. Since then, we saw Tua Tagovailoa end up on IR, and Skylar Thompson was forced out of the game on Sunday. That left Tim Boyle in to finish. Boyle isn’t an ideal choice as a starter, and with Thompson now ailing, that could leave Huntley as the best option for a flagging Dolphins offense. I’m picking him up.

Andy Dalton, Carolina Panthers

Roster Percentage: 0.3

About: Dalton was tapped to start in place of Bryce Young before Week 3. It was fair to wonder if Carolina was any good. They still might not be great. But Sunday, Dalton became the first quarterback in the NFL in 2024 to throw for more than 300 yards and three touchdowns, so he has some fantasy upside.

Taylor Heinicke, Los Angeles Chargers

Roster Percentage: 0

About: The Chargers acquired Heinicke just as the pre-season ended as insurance for Justin Herbert. That came in handy Sunday as he had to come in for Herbert, who was forced from the game with a high ankle injury. Herbert suffered the injury in Week 2 and was a game-time decision Sunday. His injury worsened in the game, making him uncertain for Week 4. Heinicke appears to be the guy in line for snaps if Herbert can’t go.

Running Backs

Emanuel Wilson, Green Bay Packers

About: Wilson was a trendy add to start the season, but after a couple weeks of just OK production he’s ended up on the Waiver Wire in a few of my leagues. But Sunday’s performance was an example of why he has some deep league appeal, especially now with MarShawn Lloyd on IR. It could be a lost season for the rookie, meaning Wilson will be the back you want to pair with Josh Jacobs in a good rushing offense.

Roschon Johnson, Chicago Bears

Roster Percentage: 0.3

About: You might have given up on Johnson, who wasn’t a big factor as a rookie and didn’t do much the first two weeks of the season. But with the Bears’ rush offense struggling, and D’Andre Swift and Khalil Herbert unable to change that, Johnson got involved Sunday. It wasn’t a great performance, but he ended up leading the team in rushing. That should open the door to additional opportunities in a backfield that needs to step up its production.

Wide Receivers

DeMario Douglas, New England Patriots

Roster Percentage: 1.0

About: The Patriots’ passing game is still a mess. It doesn’t figure to get a lot better this season, and it’s still unclear how long we’ll see Jacoby Brissett. But Douglas still seems to be one of the better receiver options. He went for seven receptions and more than 70 yards Thursday, which is pretty impressive given that Brissett and Drake Maye combined for 120 yards passing. Douglas should be rostered.

Calvin Austin III, Pittsburgh Steelers

Roster Percentage: 0.1

About: The Steelers don’t have a lot of receiving weapons. Outside of George Pickens, it’s wide open. Roman Wilson is still working back from injury and Van Jefferson is a veteran with limited upside. Austin gives you a chance for some popβ€”registering five receptions for 95 yards and touchdown Sunday. He also is active in the return game, which could be a bonus in some leagues. He’s not a lock for production, as he had just two receptions in the first two games, but he has some upside and could be a good deep league stash.

Tutu Atwell, Los Angeles Rams

Roster Percentage: 0.7

About: The Rams are thin at receiver with Puka Nacua on IR and Cooper Kupp likely out at least one more week with an ankle injury. While DeMarcus Robinson and Jordan Whittington were trendy pre-season pick-ups, it’s been Atwell that’s stepped up the past two weeks. He has seven receptions for 141 yards in two games. He is worth a flier as long as Nacua and Kupp are out, and Matthew Stafford is in at quarterback.

Parris Campbell, Philadelphia Eagles

Roster Percentage: 0.1

About: I know, I don’t feel good about recommending it either. But A.J. Brown is struggling with an injury that knocked him out of the past two games and DeVonta Smith was knocked out Sunday with a concussion. Jahan Dotson is on the squad but hasn’t played a big role. That leaves Campbell as someone who could see additional snaps of one or both of the Eagles’ starters misses Week 4. He’s worth a stash at this point in what’s still a good offense.

Tight Ends

Tyler Conklin, New York Jets

Roster Percentage: 3.9
Courtesy of New York Post

About: Tight end has been a rough position in the NFL in 2024. Conklin was a guy who offered potential pre-season but was missing in action the first two weeks. As Aaron Rodgers and the Jets settle in, Conklin found life in Week 3, catching five passes for 93 yards. He’s worth a pickup and could end up having some upside at a position that still feels unsettled after three weeks.

Tommy Tremble, Carolina Panthers

Roster Percentage: 0

About: Dalton is the rising tide that’s lifting ships in Carolina. But Tremble actually showed some potential in Week 2, catching three passes from Young. He followed it up with another three-reception game on Sunday. It’s not incredible production or an incredible ceiling, but he might provide a decent floor at a tough position. If you’re looking at goose eggs through three weeks, he’s worth a stash.

Brock Wright, Detroit Lions

Roster Percentage: 0.1

About: This has everything to do with Sam LaPorta being injured in Week 3. His status is now up-in-the-air moving into Week 4, which could leave you with a big lineup hole. Coming in for LaPorta on Sunday, Wright caught four passes for 34 yards. It wasn’t incredible production, but a six-to-eight-point day could be good enough at what’s been a challenging position.
