The 2024 season is upon us. Are you ready? Hopefully, you’re in for a winning campaign. But those of us who play Dynasty know it’s a 365-day-a-year endeavor. When we’re in season, it’s about patching roster holes and making pickups that can benefit you in the long term.

Below are the players that might be on your Waiver Wire that are worth targeting. As we begin bye weeks, that will be even more crucial. All roster percentages are courtesy of the NFL.

Quarterbacks

Tyler Huntley, Miami Dolphins

Roster Percentage: 0.8

About: Tua Tagovailoa is on IR, and it’s unclear how soon he will return. Huntley, acquired after Tua’s injury, got the start on Monday Night Football. He’s not Tua, but he’s a veteran with starting experience that gives the Dolphins something of a lift. Last night wasn’t a great first start, and I’m not excited to start him either, but we’ve seen him provide a decent fantasy floor.

Joe Flacco, Indianapolis Colts

Roster Percentage: 0.1

About: Anthony Richardson left with a hip injury Sunday, and his status is questionable. That’s why they acquired Flacco, who came off the bench and tossed two touchdowns in a win. He also seemed to provide better usage for Michael Pittman, Jr. He was the NFL’s Comeback Player of the Year in 2023 for a reason. Pick him up, and you’ll be glad you did.

Running Backs

Jeremy McNichols, Washington Commanders

Roster Percentage: 0

About: McNichols is the RB3 in Washington and a backup to Austin Ekeler. Ekeler may be back in Week 5, but if not, I’d stash McNichols. He looked strong as a rusher and scored two touchdowns Sunday, showing he has value if Ekeler or Brian Robinson is out.

Tank Bigsby, Jacksonville Jaguars

Roster Percentage: 1.5

About: After an underwhelming rookie year, many people set Bigsby adrift. And yet, in year two, he’s had a decent role. He outgained Travis Etienne on the ground Sunday for the second time, rushing for 90 yards on seven carries. For an 0-4 team looking for answers on offense, Bigsby could be an interesting piece to stash.

Kareem Hunt, Kansas City Chiefs

Roster Percentage: 17.8

About: A lot of people snagged Hunt, so he may not be available. But if he is, I’m grabbing him. The Chiefs seem comfortable with him in the system, and he got most of the carries in Sunday’s win. His ceiling isn’t incredibly high, but he might take over the Carson Steele role, though Steele and Samjae Perine were still involved Sunday.

Ty Johnson, Buffalo Bills

Roster Percentage: 0.2

About: I like James Cook and I like Ray Davis, and both have been involved in the backfield. But Johnson is also there and also involved in Buffalo. He scored a touchdown for the second week in a row on Sunday night and is getting action as a rusher and receiver. He’s worth a stash in deep leagues.

Wide Receivers

Juju Smith-Schuster and Justin Watson, Kansas City Chiefs

Roster Percentage: 0.7; 0.3

About: Rashee Rice was injured on Sunday with an ACL tear likely, and a stint on IR is incoming. That leaves the Chiefs suddenly thinner at receiver, with Hollywood Brown also out. That’s why the team reacquired Juju, who has experience in the system. The team also liked Watson, who has been a steady contributor. While Travis Kelce and Xavier Worthy are likely a bigger focus in the passing game, I think picking up both of these receivers makes sense.

Dontayvion Wicks, Green Bay Packers

Roster Percentage: 2.4

About: Christian Watson left Sunday’s game with an ankle injury. It could well keep him sidelined for a few weeks. Into the lineup came Wicks, who scored a pair of touchdowns. We’ve seen his upside when subbing for injured receivers before. He’s worth rostering and could be a good spot start the next few weeks.

Tre Tucker, Las Vegas Raiders

Roster Percentage: 1.0

About: Davante Adams was out Sunday and could miss more time dealing with an injury. Tucker stepped up and scored a touchdown for the Raiders. He was also heavily involved in Week 3. He appears to be gaining a bigger role for the Raiders, making him worth a stash in your league.

Ray-Ray McCloud, Atlanta Falcons

Roster Percentage: 1.0

About: I’ve mentioned McCloud before. The ceiling isn’t high, but he’s steadily getting targets working as a third receiver. The Falcons are still finding their footing on offense, but McCloud has been an early target favorite for Cousins. That gives him some deep-league flex appeal.

Olamide Zaccheus, Washington Commanders

Roster Percentage: 0

About: The Commanders are 3-1 and cruising along. And yet, figuring out who is in line for targets has been a mystery. They seem to be approaching the WR2 role by committee, which means anyone who has targets could have value. Luke McCaffrey and Noah Brown are now highly rostered, but on Sunday, Zaccheus saw six targets and had himself a day. If you’re searching for roster options, he’s worth a stash.

Tight Ends

Tucker Kraft, Green Bay Packers

Roster Percentage: 1.6

About: Kraft is beginning to separate himself in the tight end group for the Packers. He had six receptions for 53 yards and a touchdown Sunday and now has 12 receptions to five for Luke Musgrave. Given the rough tight end landscape, he’s worth picking up and stashing.

Noah Gray, Kansas City Chiefs

Roster Percentage: 0.8

About: Gray got a contract extension at the start of the season and has been a steady contributor throughout. On Sunday, he saw four receptions for 40 yards and could be part of the plan to help compensate for the loss of receivers. He’s worth a pickup.
