Dynasty is a year-round game. We’re always watching the latest news and tracking player movement, looking to stay ahead of the crowd and gain an edge. While we play the long game, week-to-week performances can drive long-term shifts or offer clues about future value. That’s what the Stock Watch is all about: keeping up with week-to-week value shifts to try and stay ahead of the curve when it comes to moving and acquiring players. Below is one player at each of the key fantasy positions who improved their value and one who saw their value take a hit. Let’s dive in.
Quarterbacks
Stock Up: Kyle McCord, Miami Dolphins
About: McCord has had quite the pre-season. He made a splash on the field for the Green Bay Packers but was still tracking to be the team’s QB3. So, as rosters were being finalized, the Packers made a trade, sending McCord to the Miami Dolphins. The Dolphins are no strangers to ex-Packers in 2026, with former Defensive Coordinator Jeff Hafley taking over as Head Coach and former backup Malik Willis taking over at quarterback. It’s a rebuilding year for the Dolphins, but the acquisition of McCord to back up Willis could put him in a position to see the field at some point in 2026. At the very least, it makes him an interesting dynasty stash.
Stock Down: Tua Tagovailoa, Atlanta Falcons
About: Despite Michael Penix, Jr., coming off a third torn ACL and not being healthy all pre-season, he nearly won the starting quarterback job for the Falcons. The team finally named Tua as the Week 1 starter, but his grasp on the role is tenuous at best. When Penix is healthy and available, it’s likely he’s the starter unless Tua wows on the field. This was meant to be a chance for Tua to rehabilitate his career, but so far it looks like a complete whiff.
Running Backs
Stock Up: Jadarian Price, Seattle Seahawks
About: Price was a surprise first-round selection in the 2026 NFL Draft. Then he landed on a Seahawks team with an opening and made waves during Training Camp. Now, with Zach Charbonnet on the PUP list to begin the season, Price has a chance to start and command a big workload for the Seahawks. Yes, George Holani figures to be a part of the attack, but Price is the lead back and should be a viable fantasy starter in Week 1.
Stock Down: Josh Jacobs, Green Bay Packers
About: Jacobs was put on the Commissioner’s Exempt List, meaning he’s not eligible to start the season. His hearing was moved up to September, meaning the legal process could end soon and open the door to a defined punishment. That would be looking on the bright side. The release of a video adds more negativity to the situation, with some believing Jacobs will never play in the NFL again. That’s certainly a possibility—and has happened before. Either way, it’s a huge hit to his stock not just for 2026 but moving forward. With his trade value as low as it could be, the best thing is probably to hold and hope he gets back on the field in 2026 before making a move.
Wide Receivers
Stock Up: Kayshon Boutte, Houston Texans
About: Boutte had a solid 2025 in New England, but it wasn’t good enough for the Patriots. They added A.J. Brown and Romeo Doubs, which made him expendable. So, Boutte was a late trade to the Texans. With Jayden Higgins out for the year with a torn ACL and Tank Dell on IR to start the season, there is an opening for a target opposite Nico Collins. Boutte’s trade and experience give him a great chance to prove his relevance in a new spot. He’s a great stash to start the season.
Stock Down: Tank Dell, Houston Texans
About: While Boutte has a great chance to step up, it’s largely thanks to Dell’s inability to get on the field. In his first two seasons, Dell made big statements in the Texans’ offense. But he struggled with injuries. The injury at the end of his second season has proved brutal. He missed all of the 2025 season but appeared poised to return with a big opportunity in 2026. Unfortunately, he still can’t get healthy. He’ll start the season on IR, which means we still don’t know when or if he can return to that promising form.
Tight Ends
Stock Up: Colston Loveland, Chicago Bears
About: We know that Ben Johnson wants to run an up-tempo offense in Chicago. Toward the end of his rookie season, Loveland showed his promise in the regular season and postseason. Now, as he heads into year two, he’s about the healthiest option for the Bears. Luther Burden is battling a groin injury, and Rome Odunze has been slowed by a leg injury. That sets the stage for Loveland to dominate for the Bears. We’ve seen Johnson boast an overall TE1 before while with the Lions, and Loveland could repeat the feat for Johnson and the Bears.
Stock Down: Sam LaPorta, Detroit Lions
About: Sometimes the best ability is availability. LaPorta was a wonder as a rookie, finishing as the TE1. Since then, he’s struggled to stay healthy and available. He wasn’t able to practice or play during the preseason, which leaves his Week 1 in question. He has TE1 talent, but he hasn’t been consistently available. That makes him a tough dynasty bet.
