The NFL Season is here, but we’ve been in it all year long. As Dynasty players, the season never really ends. But keeping up with the fluctuations week-to-week can help provide you with an advantage. That’s the point of the stock watchβ€”to process what we see on the field and apply it to players whose value is rising and whose value is taking a hit. Those fluctuations can help guide your management decisions as you shape your Dynasty roster for the long haul. Week 9 of the season is in the books. Let’s look at what we learned. We’ll look at one player at QB, RB, WR, and TE whose value improved, and one whose value took a hit. Let’s dive in.

Quarterbacks

Stock Up: Matthew Stafford, Los Angeles Rams

About: Remember when Stafford had a back issue that was going to limit his season? Yeah, I don’t blame you if you forgot. Stafford has been exceptional this season. He had 21 touchdowns with two interceptions coming into Week 10. He added four more touchdowns, bringing his total to 25 on the season. Stafford has shown no signs of injury and has been a boon to the Rams and fantasy players. It’s wheels up if you’re making a run with Stafford on the roster.

Stock Down: Bryce Young, Carolina Panthers

About: It looked like Young had taken a step forward to end the 2024 season with Dave Canales as Head Coach. But this season has been another step back. Young has struggled with production, coming into Week 10 as QB28 on the season. He had another game with fewer than 150 yards as his team lost to the 1-8 New Orleans Saints at home. He’s not a reliable lineup play and likely not the future for the Panthers.

Running Backs

Stock Up: TreVeyon Henderson, New England Patriots

About: Since he was drafted, we’ve waited for Henderson’s talent to win out. It seemed like he was in the doghouse most of the season. But finally, we saw a glimmer of hope on Sunday. He had only 14 carries, but he turned them into 147 yards and two huge touchdowns as the Patriots beat the Buccaneers. Hopefully, this is the breakout needed to push Henderson into a feature role with the running back-needy Patriots.

Stock Down: Jacory Croskey-Merritt, Washington Commanders

About: When the Seventh-Round pick ascended to the starting role, there was optimism. We’ve also seen bursts of productivity during the season. But the running back they call Bill hasn’t reached 50 yards in his past four starts and sits with less than 500 yards on the season. Those aren’t inspiring numbers, which makes him just a so-so lineup option. His name still has value, meaning he might be the kind of player to move while you can before the season is over.

Wide Receivers

Stock Up: Alec Pierce, Indianapolis Colts

About: Pierce is in a good position for the Colts. He’s been a solid playmaker as a deep threat. Earlier this week, the Colts traded Adonai Mitchell to the Jets. This frees things up for Pierce to be part of a top-three rotation at the position. Pierce responded with 84 yards and a touchdown on four receptions Sunday. He’s quickly becoming a great flex option with upside.

Stock Down: Christian Kirk, Houston Texans

About: The Texans traded for Kirk this offseason because they needed weapons. It’s never really materialized. In addition, the Texans have developed a strong pass-catching group of their own. With rookies Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel stepping up, and Nico Collins going strong, there aren’t a lot of targets left over for Kirk. If you hoped to see him return to form in 2025, it’s not looking promising.

Tight Ends

Stock Up: Juwan Johnson, New Orleans Saints

About: With Rashid Shaheed now in Seattle, the Saints need more offense. That opens up even more targets for Johnson, who had already been going strong this season. He came into Week 10 as TE10 on the season. He went for four receptions for 92 yards and a touchdown. That has him poised to vault even higher on the TE list. If you have him, Johnson is an excellent option at tight end each week. He’s also a great player to flip if you’re in a rebuild.

Stock Down: T.J. Hockenson, Minnesota Vikings

About: This is a case of not enough targets to go around. We’ve seen two more weeks of J.J. McCarthy, and while there have been some decent moments, it’s not a robust pass offense. Hockenson has just four receptions for 19 yards in the past two weeks. He has talent and was once a lock as a Top 12 option, but he’s not worth starting now.
