The NFL Season is here, but we’ve been in it all year. As Dynasty players, the season never really ends. But keeping up with the fluctuations week-to-week can help you gain an advantage. That’s the point of the stock watchβ€”to process what we see on the field and apply it to players whose value is rising and whose is taking a hit. Those fluctuations can help guide your management decisions as you shape your Dynasty roster for the long haul.

Week 17 is in the books; let’s look at what we learned. We’ll look at one player at QB, RB, WR, and TE whose value improved and one whose value took a hit. Let’s dive in.

Quarterbacks

Stock Up: Baker Mayfield, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

About: Mayfield was a huge question going into 2023. He delivered a QB1 season and took the Buccaneers to the playoffs, earning a long-term extension. In 2024, he proved it wasn’t a fluke. The Buccaneers are 9-7 and in range for the playoffs. And Mayfield has been even better in 2024, entering the week as QB5. He tossed five TDs on Sunday and keeps delivering. He’s been a steal in dynasty.

Stock Down: Aaron Rodgers, New York Jets

About: This was supposed to be a coronation year for Rodgers and the Jets. Instead, he got the hook Sunday after tossing two interceptions for the four-win Jets. He’s been fine for fantasy, but the Jets have been a disaster. It’s hard to imagine them running it back, and it’s hard to imagine Rodgers is a lock for a meaningful roster spot in 2025. If you have him, I’d try to move him for somethingβ€”anythingβ€”while you still might find a buyer.

Running Backs

Stock Up: Ameer Abdullah, Las Vegas Raiders

About: Once upon a time, Abdullah was a prospect we had hopes for. It never panned out in his first stops, but he’s found something in Las Vegas. He’s been catching passes, and on Sunday, he rushed for 115 yards. Is he a lock for playing time in 2025? He’s not, especially with the Raiders figuring to get an overhaul. But he’s shown himself capable and is a player I’d consider stashing.

Stock Down: Najee Harris, Pittsburgh Steelers

About: Harris has been consistent for the Steelers but hasn’t been flashy. With Arthur Smith at the helm this year and the team having declined his fifth-year option, it was interesting to see what we’d get. While Harris has again been solid, it’s not looking like he’s a difference-maker for the Steelers. He now heads into a highly uncertain off-season. If you’re a believer, perhaps he’s a buy-low. But I’m urging caution considering his uncertain role and roster future.

Wide Receivers

Stock Up: Ladd McConkey, Los Angeles Chargers

About: We knew McConkey would have a chance to contribute for the receiver-needy Chargers. But the rookie out of Georgia continues to thrive. On Saturday, he hauled in two more touchdown passes for the red-hot and playoff-bound Chargers. McConkey is a great fit for Herbert and a weekly start for fantasy players.

Stock Down: Diontae Johnson, Houston Texans

About: Johnson is on his third team in 2024 and his fourth team in two years. He’s seemingly worn out his welcome in Pittsburgh, Carolina, and Baltimore. Now, at least the receiver-needy Texans have snagged him for the end of this year. The question is whether Johnson can get on the field and rehab his career. For now, while I don’t recommend dropping him in dynasty, he doesn’t have much value. Another bad turn in Houston, and he could be out of chances.

Tight Ends

Stock Up: Trey McBride, Arizona Cardinals

About: McBride is a good tight end. We already knew this. We didn’t need his 12 receptions or his first passing touchdown this week to tell us that. But he’s become not just a good tight end but the best tight end. This season has vaulted him to the overall TE1, which is a boon for those who’ve been rostering him in fantasy. Your window to acquire him at an affordable price has slammed shut.

Stock Down: Jonnu Smith, Miami Dolphins

About: Smith has been a gift in 2024. But it’s fair to wonder what the long-term path is. The Dolphins still have De’Von Achane, Tyreek Hill, and Jaylen Waddle. That’s plenty of mouths to feed. Will Smith continue to have a big role in the Miami offense? I have been happy to move him to contenders for the stretch run because I’m not sold he continues this production. I’d try to sell high this off-season.
