In what has been described as a 3-man QB competition all spring, it was CJ Carr who reportedly looked the best in the Notre Dame spring game according to Fighting Irish Wire, finishing 14/19 for 170 yards, 2 TDs and the gameβs lone interception.
The former 4-star prospect in last yearβs composite rankings was the 3rd QB to take the field behind Steve Angeli, who took over for a drive in last yearβs CFP Semifinal vs Penn State, and Kenny Minchey, the former 4-star prospect. Angeli reportedly did not look good to open the game and finished 8/11 for 108 yards and 1 TD. And while Minchey looked good and had a rushing score, CJ Carr reportedly looked better. The QB battle is likely to extend into fall camp, but if the Notre Dame spring game was any indication, Carr seems to be in the driverβs seat.
