Maryland freshman QB, Malik Washington, has been building hype all off-season and has firmly put himself in contention to start under center in Week 1. However, he apparently suffered a lower-body injury that kept him out of Maryland’s first fall scrimmage this weekend according to Jeff Ermann of InsideMDSports.
The unnamed source reporting on the injury said Washington was “fine” and is expected to be back next week. Nonetheless, missing scrimmages doesn’t bode well for a true freshman QB vying for the starting gig when the season opens.
