Mississippi State released their week one depth chart with a surprising omission: Kelly Akharaiyi. Head coach Jeff Lebby told the media, as reported by 247Sports’ Justin Frommer that he has been dinged up in camp and will miss the opener against Eastern Kentucky.
This is a big loss for the passing offense, as Akharaiyi figured to be the WR1 for the Bulldogs heading into the season. He is WR65 for Campus2Canton’s college fantasy team. Keep an eye out for longterm impacts as the former UTEP receiver was slated to breakout this year in the SEC.
