The 2025 NFL Season is here, and with it comes some lineup questions. Which moves should you make to maximize your points? Let this weekly post be your guide as I offer one start and one sit suggestion at QB, RB, WR, and TE. These suggestions are based on my rankings compared to the consensus each week. And because we want to measure our success, check back each week for a recap on how I did.

For this project, a start is a player I think will finish in the Top 12 at QB or TE and the Top 24 at RB or WR. A sit is a player I think will finish outside those metrics. Before we dive into this week’s suggestions, let’s review how we did last week. All scoring is courtesy of Fantasy Pros.

Before we look forward, it’s time to look back at Week 9.

Week 9 Starts

QB: Justin Herbert, QB4 hit. It wasn’t as easy against the Titans as we thought, but Herbert remains hot.
RB: Jonathan Taylor, RB29 Miss. Taylor didn’t have a great day in Pittsburgh.
WR: Jaxon Smith-Njigba, WR7 Hit. JSN remains hot.
TE: Tucker Kraft, TE36 Miss. Kraft tore his ACL and is gone for the year.
Start Record: 2-2

Week 9 Sits

QB: Geno Smith, QB6 Miss. Smith was red-hot on Sunday.
RB: Woody Marks, RB47 Hit. Marks was held in check by the Broncos.
WR: Matthew Golden, WR75 Hit. Golden doesn’t get enough volume to be a good play.
TE: Hunter Henry, TE19 Hit. Henry isn’t getting consistent volume.
Sit Record: 3-1

Now, on to the Week 10 picks.

Quarterbacks

Start: Jared Goff, Detroit Lions

About: Goff is currently QB14 on the season. That’s in part due to having a bye week. Goff is averaging more than 17 points per game. The Lions are somewhat desperate after a Week 9 loss, and now face a reeling Washington Commanders team. I feel like a big week is coming. He’s in my starting lineup.

Sit: Trevor Lawrence, Jacksonville Jaguars

About: Lawrence and the Jaguars would be in the AFC Playoffs over the Kansas City Chiefs if the playoffs started today. That’s good. Lawrence has had some good games, and his team traded for a receiver this week. Also, good. But they’re facing the Texans this week on the road. The Texans are 3-5 and desperate. They have a good defense, and I believe they will bottle up the Jaguars.

Running Backs

Start: Rico Dowdle, Carolina Panthers

About: After a few weeks of splitting the backfield with Chuba Hubbard, Dowdle was unleashed in Week 9. He carried the Panthers in a massive win in Green Bay. This week, he is back home against a 1-7 New Orleans Saints team. He is a great lineup option in the future.

Sit: Alvin Kamara, New Orleans Saints

About: Kamara has long been a great fantasy football asset. But this has been a rough season. Call it the age cliff or inefficiency, but it’s been rough going. He’s only been RB52 the past three weeks. And last week, he didn’t even score a whole point. That isn’t likely to improve in Carolina. He’s a sit.

Wide Receivers

Start: Drake London, Atlanta Falcons

About: The Falcons have their backs against the wall. After three straight losses, the Falcons head to Germany in need of a win. It’s a tall order against the Colts. But I expect the Falcons to go all out. That means throwing. And when the Falcons throw, it’s to London. He was practically unstoppable in New England. He’s WR7 on the season, averaging more than 19 points per game. He’s a great start.

Sit: Rashid Shaheed, Seattle Seahawks

About: It’s been a good season for Shaheed. Despite a middling New Orleans offense, he is WR26 on the season. Now, he’s been traded to a streaking Seahawks team. I’m sure some are hoping he’s going to have a big debut. It’s possible. But there are many options in Seattle, and only one has been reliable. I’m not confident that Shaheed gets enough volume to be a good play. He’s a sit for me.

Tight Ends:

Start: Harold Fannin, Jr., Cleveland Browns

About: After a week off, the Browns are back on the field this week in New York against the Jets. The Jets’ defense hasn’t been great. The Browns’ pass offense hasn’t been great, either. But Fannin has been the best, most reliable target in that offense. He’s a good start.

Sit: Zach Ertz, Washington Commanders

About: Ertz is a solid veteran who has been a key contributor to the Commanders’ offense. He’s not a terrible starting option, but I don’t believe in the Commanders’ offense. It was struggling before all the injuries. Facing a mad Lions team, I don’t expect a good game. Ertz isn’t a Top 12 option at tight end this week.
