The 2024 NFL Season is here, and with it comes some lineup questions. Which moves should you make to maximize your points? Let this weekly post be your guide as I offer one start and one sit suggestion at QB, RB, WR, and TE. These suggestions are based on my rankings against consensus each week. Because we want to measure our success, we check back each week for a recap of how we did.
For this project, a start is a player I think will finish Top 12 at QB or TE and Top 24 at RB or WR. A sit is a player I think will finish outside those metrics. Before we dive into this week’s suggestions, let’s review how we did last week. All scoring is courtesy of Fantasy Pros.
Week 10 Starts
QB: Kirk Cousins, QB19 Miss. It wasn’t a good week for the Falcons
RB: Christian McCaffrey, RB10 Hit. McCaffrey returned and put up points.
WR: Davante Adams, WR35 Miss. Adams and the Jets are falling apart.
TE: Kyle Pitts, TE12 Hit. Pitts did just enough to make it.
Start Record: 2-2
Week 10 Sits
QB: Cooper Rush, QB34 Hit. Rush isn’t startable.
RB: Javonte Williams, RB48 Hit. Williams seems to be RB3 in Denver now.
WR: Mike Williams, WR30 Hit. Williams had a big touchdown, but it was his only catch.
TE: Cole Kmet, TE35 Hit. Kmet isn’t getting volume in Chicago.
Sit Record: 4-0
Now, on to the Week 11 picks.
Quarterbacks
Start: Justin Herbert, Los Angeles Chargers

About: The Chargers are re-making their offense, which led to a slow start for the passing game. However, the passing game has picked up since returning from their bye in Week 6. Herbert has been QB8 over that time and has gotten the passing game going. This week, he faces a fantasy-friendly Bengals defense at home. He’s back to QB1 range for me.
Sit: Aaron Rodgers, New York Jets
About: Rodgers and the Jets have made bold moves—including adding Davante Adams. It’s come with mixed results. The team is just 3-7 on the season, and the offense has imploded at times. That led to only six points total in last week’s game in Arizona. The Colts are a softer matchup, but the Jets aren’t reliable, and Rodgers looks to be past his prime. He’s not a Top 12 option.
Running Backs
Start: Chase Brown, Cincinnati Bengals

About: Zack Moss is on IR, and Cincinnati’s running back ranks are thin. That hasn’t mattered for Brown, who has been great for the Bengals, especially of late. In the past two weeks without Moss, Brown has been the RB2, averaging nearly 25 points per game. The Chargers have a strong defense, but the Bengals’ offense has been great. I like Brown to be at least an RB2 this week. He’s a start for me.
Sit: Nick Chubb, Cleveland Browns
About: I was as excited as anyone to see Chubb back for the Browns. It’s also possible a bye week will help spur the entire offense. But what we’ve seen from Chubb in his two games this season hasn’t been impressive. He’s just RB49 over those two games, averaging less than five points per game. That’s not good enough. He’s not a Top 24 guy for me.
Wide Receivers
Start: Cedric Tillman, Cleveland Browns

About: While I wasn’t high on Chubb, one Brown has been on fire. Tillman moved into an expanded role when the team dealt Amari Cooper, and he’s thrived in that role. From Week 7 to 9, Tillman was WR1, averaging more than 22 points per game. This week, he’s back in action against a Saints’ secondary that no longer has Marshon Lattimore. With Jameis Winston at the helm, I’m firing Tillman up everywhere I’ve got him.
Sit: Amari Cooper, Buffalo Bills
About: I like Cooper, and I liked the trade that brought him to Buffalo. It’s a great NFL move for a team that’s contending. But, in addition to battling a wrist injury, Cooper faces plenty of competition for targets. Cooper has scored less than 18 points in four weeks for the Bills. He’s not a solid start at this point.
Tight Ends
Start: T.J. Hockenson, Minnesota Vikings

About: Hockenson came back from injury in Week 9. After a bit of a soft start, he was red-hot in Week 10. Hockenson finished as TE5 last week, scoring more than 15 points. He has good chemistry with Sam Darnold and figures to be a big part of the Vikings’ attack this week in Tennessee. He’s in my lineup.
Sit: Jake Ferguson, Dallas Cowboys
About: I don’t know if you saw last week, but the Cowboys are a mess. Cooper Rush was way under 100 passing yards, while Trey Lance didn’t add much in relief. The Cowboys are home, which is promising, but facing a feisty Houston Texans team this week. I’m not optimistic about the offense or the target share for Ferguson. I still like the player, but he’s not a TE1 in this offense.
