The 2024 NFL Season is here, and with it comes some lineup questions. Which moves should you make to maximize your points? Let this weekly post be your guide as I offer one start and one sit suggestion at QB, RB, WR, and TE. These suggestions are based on my rankings against consensus each week. Because we want to measure our success, we check back each week for a recap of how we did.

For this project, a start is a player I think will finish Top 12 at QB or TE and Top 24 at RB or WR. A sit is a player I think will finish outside those metrics. Before we dive into this week’s suggestions, let’s review how we did last week. All scoring is courtesy of Fantasy Pros.

Week 11 Starts

QB: Justin Herbert, QB8 Hit. Herbert is still going strong.
RB: Chase Brown, RB8 Hit. It was a heartbreaking loss for the Bengals, but Brown was solid.
WR: Cedric Tillman, WR50 Miss. Tillman missed out on the volume on Sunday.
TE: T.J. Hockenson, TE34 Miss. Hockenson was the second-best TE on his team.
Start Record: 2-2

Week 11 Sits

QB: Aaron Rodgers, QB22 Hit. Rodgers just isn’t putting up fantasy numbers.
RB: Nick Chubb, RB38 Hit. Chubb is the lead in Cleveland, but he’s not fantasy-relevant.
WR: Amari Cooper, WR52 Hit. Cooper got a 30-yard pass, but not enough volume.
TE: Jake Ferguson, TE40 Hit. Ferguson was knocked out, so it limited his targets.
Sit Record: 4-0

Now, on to the Week 12 picks.

Quarterbacks

Start: Kyler Murray, Arizona Cardinals

About: Don’t look now, but Murray and the Cardinals are in first place in a tight-packed NFC West. Murray has been doing well for those who roster him. Murray is QB9 on the season, averaging more than 18 points per game. The Cardinals have a divisional battle this week, and I’m firing up Murray as they try to remain on top of the NFC West.

Sit: Tommy DeVito, New York Giants

About: I get that the Giants have turned things over to DeVito, with Brian Daboll supposedly preferring him to Drew Lock. I just don’t understand why. And I’m certainly not betting my fantasy season on him. Even in a week with only 26 options at quarterback, he’s my last-place option. I’m staying away.

Running Backs

Start: De’Von Achane, Miami Dolphins

About: Tua Tagovailoa is back, and the Dolphins have won two straight games. Yes, the team is just 4-6. But they’re still not out of the race in the AFC, and if they hope to get it, they there need Achane. He’s been a stud and sits as RB8 on the season, averaging 17 points per game. He’s a big part of the passing game and the team’s leading rusher. He’s in my lineup.

Sit: Rico Dowdle, Dallas Cowboys

About: The Cowboys’ run game has been non-existent of late. While Dowdle is still the lead back and has a role in the passing game, the production just isn’t there. With the Cowboys facing a good Commanders team this week, I’m not firing up a Cowboys’ running back.

Wide Receivers

Start: Courtland Sutton, Denver Broncos

About: Sutton is the Broncos’ best and most consistent receiver. With rookie Bo Nix humming along, the pass offense is also starting to hit its stride. That’s meant good things for Sutton on the field and in fantasy. He’s WR15 on the season and had 15 or more points in five of his last six games. Facing a weak Raiders team with a playoff berth in their sights, I’m firing up Sutton.

Sit: Jakobi Myers, Las Vegas Raiders

About: With Davante Adams in New York, Myers is the top dog in the receiver group for the Raiders. The problem is it hasn’t been a robust offense. This week, the Raiders face a good Broncos defense that smothered the Atlanta Falcons’ receivers in Week 11. I’m not starting Myers this week.

Tight Ends

Start: Brock Bowers, Las Vegas Raiders

About: Wait, I thought we were out on the Raiders’ offense? Yes, that’s true, but the one exception is Bowers. No matter who has been at quarterback or how the team has done, Bowers has found a way to thrive for fantasy players. He’s TE1, averaging 16 points per game. That included 23.7 points in the Raiders’ first game against the Broncos despite his team being blown out. I’m firing up Bowers.

Sit: Noah Gray, Kansas City Chiefs

About: There’s been buzz for Gray this year. He has an expanded role, and in a big game against the Bills in Week 11, he caught a pair of touchdowns. I get the excitement, and he could continue to see his role as a contributor grow. But that doesn’t mean he’s a solid start in 2024. Gray is just TE27 on the season with two games at ten or more points. He also has two games with zero points and most games with single-digit points. He’s averaging just six points per game. You have better options.
