The 2025 NFL Season is here, and with it comes some lineup questions. Which moves should you make to maximize your points? Let this weekly post be your guide as I offer one start and one sit suggestion at QB, RB, WR, and TE. These suggestions are based on my rankings compared to the consensus each week. And because we want to measure our success, check back each week for a recap on how I did.

For the purposes of this project, a start is a player I believe will finish in the Top 12 at QB or TE, and in the Top 24 at RB or WR. A sit is a player I think will finish outside those metrics. Before we dive into this week’s suggestions, let’s review how we did last week. All scoring is courtesy of Fantasy Pros.

Before we look forward, it’s time to look back at Week 2.

Week 2 Starts

QB: Justin Herbert, QB18 Miss. Herbert had a strong Week 2, but not good enough.
RB: Christian McCaffrey, RB5 Hit. McCaffrey is back to getting a lot of touches.
WR: CeeDee Lamb, WR10 Hit. Honestly, Lamb could have been bigger.
TE: Jonnu Smith, TE25 Miss. Jonnu got targets and even got receptions, but didn’t do much with them.
Start Record: 2-2

Week 2 Sits

QB: Daniel Jones, QB7 Miss. Jones remains red hot.
RB: Jerome Ford, RB27 Hit. Ford was better in Week 2, but he’s not a reliable Top 24 play.
WR: Nico Collins, WR 30 Hit. An early touchdown had me nervous, but the Texans are a mess.
TE: Darren Waller, DNP Hit. Waller has been a huge bust.
Sit Record: 3-1

Now, on to the Week 3 picks.

Quarterbacks

Start: Daniel Jones, Indianapolis Colts

About: Look, I had Jones as a sit last week because he was facing the Denver Broncos. He finished as QB7, his second straight week of QB1 work. The Colts haven’t even punted yet this season. Now, they hit the road to face an 0-2 Titans team. I think Jones is a good bet again. In fact, I’m not betting against him until we see the glass slipper shatter.

Sit: Tyrod Taylor, New York Jets

About: Taylor is in for Justin Fields this week. Coming in for Fields in Week 2, Taylor sparked the offense a bit, leading to a touchdown drive in a lopsided loss to the Buffalo Bills. Now, the Jets are on the road against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. It’s not a great matchup, and Taylor lacks the rushing upside of Fields. He’s not a start for me, even in Superflex.

Running Backs

Start: Javonte Williams, Dallas Cowboys

About: Through two weeks, Williams has added three rushing touchdowns and sits at RB3. Now, he gets to face a Bears team that got trucked in Week 2 by the Lions. The Bears will have all they can handle trying to contain the Cowboys’ pass offense. I expect another big week for Williams, who seems a perfect fit for the Cowboys.

Sit: Browns Running Backs

About: There are a couple of reasons for me being out on Cleveland backs. While I like Quinshon Judkins for Dynasty, the Browns’ backfield still seems to have too many cooks in the kitchen. Judkins, Ford, and Sampson all got touches last week, and I suspect they’ll all be involved this week. And now the Browns are facing a fierce Packers’ team that smothered the Lions’ running game in Week 1 and shut down the Commanders in Week 2. No thanks.

Wide Receivers

Start: Wan’Dale Robinson, New York Giants

About: Last year, Robinson was a great weekly play thanks mostly to being a PPR machine. So far in 2025, he’s getting targets and receptions. But he’s also showing he can be more of a downfield threat, like Sunday, when he caught bombs from Russell Wilson. He’s WR9 on the season. I’m in on the Giants over the Chiefs on Sunday night, so I’m in on Robinson this week. Fire him up.

Sit: Brian Thomas, Jr., Jacksonville Jaguars

About: Thomas was great in 2024. I still like his talent, but 2025 hasn’t been as good. He’s getting targets, but he’s not getting many receptions or much yardage. Now, he gets a good Texans’ defense in Week 3. The Texans did a nice job of bottling up the Buccaneers’ receivers in Week 2, and with Thomas and Trevor Lawrence not being on the same page, I’m not bullish on the receiver in Week 3.

Tight Ends

Start: Tyler Warren, Indianapolis Colts

About: It’s not just Jones who has gotten off to a hot start for the Colts. The rookie Warren has been hot, sitting at TE4 through two weeks. He’s getting targets aplenty from Jones, and he’s converting. It’s a good matchup in Week 3, so Warren is in my lineup.

Sit: Mark Andrews, Baltimore Ravens

About: Andrews was once a focal point of the Ravens’ offense. That time seems to be over. The Ravens have scored 81 points in two weeks. Andrews has two receptions for seven yards. And that was without Isaiah Likely active. Likely is still questionable for Week 3, but he’s back practicing. Either way, Andrews isn’t the man for the Ravens’ pass offense. He’s out of my lineup.
