Which moves should you make to maximize your points? Use this weekly post as your guide, as I offer one start and one sit suggestion at QB, RB, WR, and TE. These suggestions are based on my rankings compared to the consensus each week. To measure our success, check back each week for a recap of how I did.

For this project, a start is a player I think will finish in the Top 12 at QB or TE and the Top 24 at RB or WR. A sit is a player I think will finish outside those metrics. In the coming weeks, I’ll start with a recap of how I finished the prior week. All scoring will be courtesy of Fantasy Pros.

Before we move forward, let’s see how we did in Week 5.

Week 5 Starts

QB: Deshaun Watson, QB22 Miss. The Browns fell flat in New York.
RB: R.J. Harvey, RB70 Miss. So glad Sean Payton is calling plays again.
WR: Drake London, WR13 Hit. London remains hot.
TE: Mike Gesicki, TE22, Miss. Gesicki got a TD. That was sadly all he got.
Start Record: 1-3

Week 5 Sits

QB: Jordan Love, QB7 Miss. Explain the Packers to me like I’m 5.
RB: David Montgomery, RB65 Hit. Montgomery got hurt.
WR: Dontayvion Wicks, WR29 Hit. Wicks was better, not good enough.
TE: Isaiah Likely, TE1 Miss. I was wrong.
Sit Record: 2-2

Now, on to the Week 6 picks.

Quarterbacks

Start: Drake Maye, New England Patriots

About: At the start of the season, we thought Maye would be a Top 12 option at quarterback. Through three weeks, that looked like a mistake. But now, Maye seems to have found himself again. He was QB1 in Week 5 with an incredible performance. Now, he’s home for the Jets. I know they smothered the Browns last week, but I’m back to believing.

Sit: Michael Penix, Jr., Atlanta Falcons

About: I know it looks like Penix is going to gut it out. The Falcons are also home against a Bears defense that made Jordan Love look like Joe Montana. But I don’t buy it. I think Penix will be fine, but I don’t think he’s good enough.

Running Backs

Start: Jaylen Warren, Pittsburgh Steelers

About: In the offseason, the question was how the Steelers’ backfield would work. Some thought Rico Dowdle would be a big factor. Instead, Warren has dominated. He’s RB8 on the season, showing his prowess as a runner and a pass-catcher. He’s had a great start and is the heart of the Steelers’ offense.

Sit: Omarion Hampton, Los Angeles Chargers

About: The Chargers are a mess. The Chargers’ offense is a mess. And the backfield is crowded. Mike McDaniel continues to use Hampton along with Kimani Vidal and Keaton Mitchell. Hampton has had a couple of decent games, but you never know when that will happen. Hampton is RB25 this season, and if you’re relying on him for more, you never know what you’ll get. He’s a sit for me.

Wide Receivers

Start: Mike Evans, San Francisco 49ers

About: Evans was a reliable star for the Buccaneers for years. Now, he’s doing the same for the 49ers. He’s WR13 and has been a rock-solid piece for the 49ers despite getting banged up. As the team hosts the Commanders on Monday, I expect him to produce again.

Sit: Marvin Harrison, Jr., Houston Texans

About: Harrison Jr. was traded to the Texans last week. For dynasty, this is a new lease on his career. He could put up decent numbers in Houston and look more like the player we expected when we drafted him. But it won’t be Sunday in London.

Tight Ends

Start: Travis Kelce, Kansas City Chiefs

About: Two weeks ago, I started Kelce against the Raiders. It didn’t work out. He’s fresh off a bye week, Tyquan Thornton is gone, and the Chiefs are facing a woeful Chargers team. I’m going back to the well. I believe in Kelce this week!

Sit: Jake Ferguson, Dallas Cowboys

About: Ferguson is talented and has been a TE1 before. He’s in a good offense, and you’d like to roll him out as a starting option again. But this season he’s been inconsistent. In fact, in the Thursday night loss, he popped a ball up that was intercepted to end the game. Until I see more consistency from him and Dallas, he’s on the bench.
