The 2024 NFL Season is here, and with it comes some lineup questions. Which moves should you make to maximize your points? Let this weekly post be your guide as I offer one start and one sit suggestion at QB, RB, WR, and TE. These suggestions are based on my rankings against consensus each week. Because we want to measure our success, we check back each week for a recap of how we did.

For this project, a start is a player I think will finish Top 12 at QB or TE and Top 24 at RB or WR. A sit is a player I think will finish outside those metrics. Before we dive into this week’s suggestions, let’s review how we did last week. All scoring is courtesy of Fantasy Pros.

Week 6 Starts

QB: Dak Prescott, QB28 Miss. Dak fell off a cliff Sunday.
RB: Chuba Hubbard, RB18 Hit. Hubbard remained hot.
WR: Drake London, WR15 Hit. London and the Falcons are on fire.
TE: Tucker Kraft, TE31 Miss. Kraft saw four targets but didn’t convert.
Start Record: 2-2

Week 6 Sits

QB: Drake Maye, QB10 Miss. Maye was better than expected in his first start.
RB: Jerome Ford, RB57 Hit. Ford is struggling along with the rest of the Browns.
WR: George Pickens, WR44 Hit. Pickens isn’t getting enough volume for the Steelers.
TE: Juwan Johnson, TE19 Hit. Johnson isn’t getting enough volume to be a weekly start.
Sit Record: 3-1

Now, on to the Week 7 picks.

Quarterbacks

Start: Lamar Jackson, Baltimore Ravens

About: Maybe this is too obvious, but I wanted to shout out Jackson, who has been playing great this season. Through six games, Jackson is QB1, averaging more than 24 points per game. He’s playing at an MVP level again, and he should keep that up in a big way against the Buccaneers on Monday Night Football.

Sit: Russell Wilson, Pittsburgh Steelers

About: Wilson was fine in 2023 for the Broncos. He was a QB2 despite the team not being great. I think he’ll be fine for the Steelers, probably in the QB2 range while the starter. But I don’t think he’s a big upgrade from Justin Fields at this point, and he’s going against a good Jets defense. I expect the Steelers to keep leaning on the run and Wilson to finish out of QB1 range.

Running Backs

Start: Joe Mixon, Houston Texans

About: Mixon missed three games but returned to monster numbers in Week 6. He’s RB5 on a points-per-game basis, averaging nearly 21 points per game. The Texans play the Packers this week, and there should be fireworks. Mixon has been a great fit for the Texans, and he’s an excellent fit for your fantasy lineup.

Sit: Zack Moss, Cincinnati Bengals

About: Moss signed with the Bengals and figured to be part of the answer in the backfield. While he seemed the better option to start the season, he’s been losing ground to Chase Brown. At this point, Brown is the back you want for the Bengals. Moss is just RB26 on the season, with less than 10 points in each of his last two games. He’s a flex option at best.

Wide Receivers

Start: Garrett Wilson, New York Jets

About: I know Davante Adams is the shiny new toy in New York. He also has a favorable history with Aaron Rodgers. But That doesn’t mean Wilson is out. He’s been building chemistry with Rodgers all season, and he’s been putting up solid numbers. He’s WR7 on the season, averaging more than 16 points per game. He remains a good play in fantasy, especially as Adams is just getting used to the Jets. I’m firing him up.

Sit: Khalil Shakir, Buffalo Bill

About: Shakir has been the best of the Bills receivers, but that doesn’t mean much for fantasy. Now, the Bills have added Amari Cooper to the mix. The team is still a run-first squad, and I expect Josh Allen to continue spreading the ball around. Shakir is an acceptable flex option, but he won’t see enough volume to be a Top 24 play.

Tight Ends

Start: Evan Engram, Jacksonville Jaguars

About: Engram missed four games with a hamstring injury. But it turned out he was worth the wait. Engramβ€”who led the Jaguars in targets and receptions in 2023β€”grabbed ten passes in Week 6, accounting for 18.2 fantasy points and finishing as TE3. The Jaguars are in London again, looking to pick up a win, and I think Engram will be a focus in the passing game for Trevor Lawrence. I’m firing him up.

Sit: Tyler Conklin, New York Jets

About: While I wasn’t worried about Wilson’s volume with Adams in town, I can’t say the same for Conklin. The tight end has, at times, been a fantasy find this season with Rodgers. But his volume isn’t reliable. Even without Adams in Week 6, Conklin finished as TE33. He’s a TE2 with some upside but not a reliable week-to-week start.
