The 2025NFL Season is here, and with it comes some lineup questions. Which moves should you make to maximize your points? Let this weekly post be your guide as I offer one start and one sit suggestion at QB, RB, WR, and TE. These suggestions are based on my rankings compared to the consensus each week. And because we want to measure our success, check back each week for a recap on how I did.

For this project, a start is a player I think will finish Top 12 at QB or TE and Top 24 at RB or WR. A sit is a player I think will finish outside those metrics. Before we dive into this week’s suggestions, let’s review how we did last week. All scoring is courtesy of Fantasy Pros.

Before we look forward, it’s time to look back at Week 6.

Week 6 Starts

QB: Bo Nix, QB21 Miss. It started so well, then the Broncos’ offense evaporated.
RB: Rico Dowdle, RB2 Hit. Another huge week for Dowdle.
WR: D.K. Metcalf, WR10 Hit. Metcalf and Rodgers have really found something.
TE: Jake Ferguson, TE10 Hit. Another touchdown for the Cowboys’ tight end.
Start Record: 3-1

Week 6 Sits

QB: Joe Flacco, QB15 Hit. Flacco was solid, but not a Top 12 option.
RB: Derrick Henry, RB13 Miss. Henry was the only good thing for the Ravens.
WR: Jakobi Myers, WR43 Hit. Myers isn’t getting the volume.
TE: Zach Ertz, TE5 Miss. Ertz was back to his 2024 form on Monday.
Sit Record: 2-2

Now, on to the Week 7 picks!

Quarterbacks

Start: Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs

About: After a couple of middling seasons, Mahomes looks like he’s back to his original vintage. He’s sitting at QB1 after six weeks and has had 27 or more points in each of the past three games. Now, he gets back Rashee Rice and faces the Raiders. He’s a GREAT start.

Sit: Tua Tagovailoa, Miami Dolphins

About: You’d like to be able to start Tua against a woeful Browns team. You’d like to. And you might be tempted in Superflex, but the Browns have a good defense, and Tua has a problem with flinging the ball to the other team. He’s also been embattled since a post-game press conference that wasn’t flattering on Sunday. I’m staying away from the Dolphins.

Running Backs

Start: Christian McCaffrey, San Francisco 49ers

About: We entered the season with a lot of questions about McCaffrey and whether he was healthy enough to stay on the field. After six weeks, he’s seemingly the healthiest 49er. He’s RB1 through six weeks and figures to keep carrying the load for the San Francisco offense. He should be in your lineup.

Sit: Ken Walker, Seattle Seahawks

About: No one knows exactly what’s going on with the Seahawks’ backfield. What is clear is that Walker’s role has been cut back. He has only had 50 percent or more of the snaps in one gameβ€”the week when Zack Charbonnet was missing. When they are both healthy, Charbonnet is playing on third downs, in the hurry-up offense, and in the Red Zone. That doesn’t leave Walker with a great chance to put up points. He’s barely an RB2, sitting at RB24 after six weeks. I don’t like the trend, so I’m not trusting him in Week 7.

Wide Receivers

Start: Davante Adams, Los Angeles Rams

About: Yes, Puka Nacua is off to an amazing start. But Adams has been just fine, sitting at WR14 through six weeks. And with Nacua banged up, and not a lock to play in Week 7, Adams is the Rams’ pass catcher you want in your lineup.

Sit: D.J. Moore, Chicago Bears

About: Moore has been the top pass catcher for the Bears for the past few seasons. But with Ben Johnson and a re-shaped offense, things have been different in 2025. He’s sitting at WR51. He’s still a flex consideration, but he’s not getting consistent volume. He’s not a Top 24 receiver for me in Week 7.

Tight Ends

Start: Harold Fannin, Jr., Cleveland Browns

About: The Browns’ rookie is having a solid season. He’s sitting as TE12 through six games, getting consistent looks and volume. He’s been even stronger the past two weeks with Dillon Gabriel in the lineup. With the Browns actually favored at home against the Dolphins, I like Fannin to continue to produce in Week 7.

Sit: Theo Johnson, New York Giants

About: The second-year man is in the mix for a Giants’ offense that needs pass catchers. He was great in Week 5, but didn’t do a lot Thursday against the Eagles. Now, he’s playing a solid Denver defense that’s been smothering opposing offenses. I don’t see enough volume to make Johnson a good starting option.
