The 2025 NFL Season is here, and with it comes some lineup questions. Which moves should you make to maximize your points? Let this weekly post be your guide as I offer one start and one sit suggestion at QB, RB, WR, and TE. These suggestions are based on my rankings compared to the consensus each week. And because we want to measure our success, check back each week for a recap on how I did.
For this project, a start is a player I think will finish in the Top 12 at QB or TE and the Top 24 at RB or WR. A sit is a player I think will finish outside those metrics. Before we dive into this weekβs suggestions, letβs review how we did last week. All scoring is courtesy of Fantasy Pros.
Before we look forward, itβs time to look back at Week 7.
Week 7 Starts
QB: Patrick Mahomes, QB5 Hit. Mahomes was on fire again in Week 7.
RB: Christian McCaffrey, RB1 Hit. McCaffrey is making an early case for NFL MVP.
WR: Davante Adams, WR6 Hit. Only 35 yards, but three touchdowns. Adams was great.
TE: Harold Fannin, Jr., TE23 Miss. Fannin led the Browns’ pass catchers, but it wasnβt a great day.
Start Record: 3-1
Week 7 Sits
QB: Tua Tagovailoa, QB34 Hit. Tua was terrible.
RB: Ken Walker, RB33 Hit. Walker isnβt getting crucial volume.
WR: D.J. Moore, WR39 Hit. Moore also isnβt getting volume.
TE: Theo Johnson, TE9 Miss. Johnson caught a huge TD to get in the Top 12.
Sit Record: 3-1
Now, on to the Week 8 picks!
Quarterbacks

Start: Joe Flacco, Cincinnati Bengals
About: Since coming over to the Bengals before Week 6, Flacco has been on fire. Heβs QB9 over the past two weeks. Now, he gets a home game against a Jets defense thatβs in disarray. When you combine that with six teams on a bye and several injuries and changes at the position, Iβm bullish on Flacco this week.
Sit: C.J. Stroud, Houston Texans
About: Stroud was great as a rookie. But while the Texans made the playoffs in 2024, some of the shine came off Stroud for fantasy. In 2025, itβs been a disaster. The Texans have a mediocre line and no real run game. Thatβs taken a toll on Stroud. Now, he gets to face the 49ers and Defensive Coordinator Robert Saleh. Thatβs a pass for me.
Running Backs

Start: Quinshon Judkins, Cleveland Browns
About: Judkins had a tumultuous off-season and start to his rookie year. But, since signing and getting on the field, heβs been great. Heβs RB11 since Week 2. Heβs been the heart of the Brownsβ offensive attack. I think that continues in Week 8. Heβs a great start.
Sit: Alvin Kamara, New Orleans Saints
About: Kamara is a big name who has been a fixture in the NFL and fantasy lineups for years. But he hasnβt been as productive for the Saints in 2025. He has just 76 yards on 19 carries the past three weeks. Some receiving work has helped, but it hasnβt been enough. Heβs averaging just 10.8 points through seven games. Now, he gets to face a tough Buccaneersβ rush defense. Heβs a sit for me.
Wide Receivers

Start: Rashee Rice, Kansas City Chiefs
About: Rice picked up right where he left off in Week 7, seeing 10 targets and catching seven passes and two touchdowns. In Week 8, in Prime Time, he gets to face a fantasy-friendly Commandersβ defense. He should be in your lineup.
Sit: Keon Coleman, Buffalo Bills
About: Coleman has plenty of upside. We saw that in a big performance in Week 1. But heβs been mostly quiet since. Heβs just WR46 on the season. Heβs too inconsistent to feel good about him as a weekly Top 24 start.
Tight Ends

Start: Jake Ferguson, Dallas Cowboys
About: Yes, the Cowboys are playing the Broncos this week. But if thereβs one place the Broncos are weak, itβs in the middle of the field. Thatβs particularly true with Dre Greenlaw suspended for the week. That makes Ferguson, already TE1 on the season. Iβm firing him up with confidence.
Sit: Evan Engram, Denver Broncos
About: Seeing the Cowboys on the schedule, youβd like to get excited about playing your Broncos. And maybe a 33-point fourth quarter increases that. But the Broncosβ passing gameβoutside of Courtland Suttonβis still too inconsistent. Could Engram have a big day? Itβs possible. But Iβm not counting on him.
