Week 1 was full of disappointments as some teams that had the cover well within reach let it slip away…would’ve, could’ve, should’ve! I was able to look ahead to Week 2 as soon as the Louisville/Ole Miss game ended this past Monday night. Time to get back in the green!

***FRIDAY*** Kansas @ Coastal Carolina (-27) (O/U 52.5)

Look for Coastal Carolina to come out fast and take care of business at home versus Kansas. Both teams come into Friday’s game 1-0, but Kansas still has some questions to answer even after their Week 1 victory. On the otehr hand, Coastal Carolina, didn’t waste any time taking care of The Citadel, putting up 31 points unanswered points in the first half.

I look for the Chanticleers to do the same against Kansas and score at will for all four quarters.

Play: Coastal Carolina: 1H team points OVER 22.5

***FRIDAY*** UTEP @ Boise State (-26) (O/U 56.5)

I’m not alone in regards to wanting to forget about Week 1. Boise State would also like to have their game against UCF erased from memory. The Broncos were able to get off to a fast start and have a 21-point lead to start the 2nd quarter, but were unable to hold on and ended up losing the game 36-31.

UTEP enters this game scoring 30+ points in each of their first two contests. I don’t see a scenario where UTEP will have issues scoring against Boise State. Both teams will struggle to stop anyone and each offense will have to score in bunches themselves.

Play: Game OVER 56.5 points

Florida (– 28.5) @ South Florida (O/U 58.5)

13th ranked Florida took care of in-state opponent Florida Atlantic in Week 1. This week they face another in-state opponent in South Florida, however have to travel down to Tampa for this one. That may not matter as USF failed to get off the bus in Raleigh last week and got throttled by NC State 45-0.

Florida should take this game seriously but not really. Look for this contest to be a stat stuffer for the skill position players.

Play: Florida -28.5

Appalachian State @ Miami (-9) (O/U 54)

After last week’s debacle, I can see Miami wanting to prove they belong in the top 25. Alabama suffocated them from the opening kickoff in Atlanta. QB D’Eriq King could not get going against that stout Tide defense.

Appalachian State had two running backs rush for over 100 yards against East Carolina. Truthfully, I like Appalachian State in this spot to get the cover, but I’m going with the over at 54 as my play. I can see Miami wanting to get off to a fast start while the Mountaineers match their effort on offense.

Play: game total OVER 54 points
