Drafts are heating up, and the Champion Series is underway for Chris Moxley, me, and others in the CFF industry. These 12 drafts are a great way to understand ADP from a more plugged-in (but also equally delusional and poorly picked) group of drafters. Even with “touts” handling drafts, we see plenty of pumping and dumping.

This month we have another batch of pumps that, in due time, will be dumps. All three draft costs are from the Champion Series drafts for reference!

Sire Gaines, Boise State, RB

4.11
4.05

4.08

What could we have seen from Gaines in 2024 if not for injuries? Ashton Jeanty would always own the backfield last season, but we could have seen 4-6 electric touches from Gaines if not for health reasons. At the very least, we could have seen something out of him.

Instead, injuries limited his usage in 2024, and it appears that injuries are limiting him in 2025. Neither Jambres Dubar norΒ Gaines appears to be practicing right now, which leaves the way open for Malik Sherrod, the Fresno State transfer. Everyone just assumed Sherrod’s slim build would make him RB2 at best, yet he seems to be practicing and doing it well so far. Gaines is a guy being taken way too high for the potential of a battle and fact he’s not even healthy right now.Β

Kanye Udoh, Arizona State, RB

8.10
7.01
8.11

I’ve been warning you about Kanye Udoh for months, and recent practice reports should have those who have drafted him concerned. The former Army running back is working as the RB3 and is barely being discussed, while Kyson Brown is being called a leader and working as the top running back.

Brown wasn’t super impressive last season (4.8 YPC and just over 500 total yards), but he was great last offseason and is seemingly a team favorite. I’m not ready to say Brown starts, but at this point, he has to be the favorite to win the job, making Udoh anywhere near this cost too expensive.

Jadan Baugh, Florida, RB

6.09
9.11
6.06

I don’t doubt that Baugh is the Florida RB1, but I do doubt if that matters. Last year’s Florida run game was really pretty good with Montrell Johnson running for 5.9 YPC in an injury-shortened season and Baugh running for 5.1 YPC as a fill-in to that top running back spot. The issue here is two-fold.

When Baugh became the top dog, he broke 100 yards just once (7 games), and five of his seven touchdowns came in one game. With DJ Lagway as the quarterback, you have to think his touchdown upside isn’t going to be all that high. And the Gators will likely use multiple backs all season like they did in 2024. The cherry on top here is that Baugh had just four receptions, something he would have to increase 5x to warrant a pick this high.Β

Matthew Coleman, SJSU, WR

6.08
6.07
6.10

Early and limited reports are out on San Jose State, yet not much is being said about Matthew Coleman. His name seemingly is being left off while Treyshun Hurry is the talk of the town. Coleman is being drafted after just one game, which is very dangerous, as we’ve seen in years past.

Hurry had himself a decent little 2024 even as the team’s WR3. He ended up with 28 receptions for 482 yards and two touchdowns on the year. At this point in the offseason, it’s not the worst thing to not hear Coleman’s name touted by the team’s (limited) beat reporters, but it’s not great either. His price tag should be in the 9-11 round range until we hear something positive from San Jose.Β

Eli Sanders, USC, RB

9.05
8.01
Through 11 rounds,
not yet drafted in the current Champ Series draft

Most assumed that Sanders would be the RB1 after a great year at New Mexico, but this is not the case, as of right now! It’s Waymond Jordan who is not only first team in reps but is also impressing everyone. The junior college transfer was dominant last season and has a thick build that can easily withstand RB1 usage. Even if it’s a 50/50 battle at this point (it’s not), this pick of Sanders is too high. I suspect Sanders drops into the teens for the next month before being a guy who may not be picked by July. There is that much hype around Jordan, and I believe it’s that legitimate.
