Which moves should you make to maximize your points? Use this weekly post as your guide, as I offer one start and one sit suggestion at QB, RB, WR, and TE. These suggestions are based on my rankings compared to the consensus each week. To measure our success, check back each week for a recap of how I did.
For this project, a start is a player I think will finish in the Top 12 at QB or TE and the Top 24 at RB or WR. A sit is a player I think will finish outside those metrics. In the coming weeks, I’ll start with a recap of how I finished the prior week. All scoring will be courtesy of Fantasy Pros.
Before we move forward, let’s see how we did in Week 6.
Week 6 Starts
QB: Drake Maye, QB4 Hit. Maye is hot right now.
RB: Jaylen Warren, RB23 Hit. Not his best game, but good enough.
WR: Mike Evans, WR30 Miss. Evans left early with an injury.
TE: Travis Kelce, TE18 Miss. Kelce missed again.
Start Record: 2-2
Week 6 Sits
QB: Michael Penix, Jr., QB5 Miss. The Bears were up big… then stopped playing.
RB: Omarion Hampton, RB28 Hit. Hampton isn’t a Top 24 option.
WR: Marvin Harrison, Jr., WR57 Hit. Harrison isn’t a start yet.
TE: Jake Ferguson, TE32 Hit. Not enough volume for Ferguson.
Sit Record: 3-1
Now, on to the Week 7 picks!
Quarterbacks

Start: Bryce Young, Carolina Panthers
About: This is a big year for Young and the Panthers. And so far, Young is answering the call. He’s QB10 on the season despite already having a bye week. The Panthers square off against the Buccaneers this week, and I expect Young to have another strong day.
Sit: Bo Nix, Denver Broncos
About: Nix was a top-10 option in each of his first two seasons. Through six games this year, he’s QB22. Honestly, he’s looked worse than that. Some blame the tough schedule. Some suggest he’s still injured. But Nix clearly doesn’t look comfortable, and the offense is dysfunctional. A trip to Arizona could help, but I’m not counting on it.
Running Backs

Start: Ollie Gordon, Miami Dolphins
About: It’s been a rough season for the Dolphins, but Gordon has been a bright spot. He took over from De’Von Achane after Achane was injured in Week 3. In those three games, he’s RB11. He’s the only part of the Dolphins’ offense that is worth playing for fantasy.
Sit: Josh Jacobs, Green Bay Packers
About: Jacobs has had a tumultuous season. He faced legal trouble and landed on the Commissioner’s Exempt List. He is off now and should be in line to play, likely starting against the Lions this week. Jacobs has been a great contributor for the Packers, but I’m not starting him this week. He needs to ease back into the game, the offense, and the playbook.
Wide Receivers

Start: Christian Watson, Green Bay Packers
About: The Packers’ passing game has been heating up. And Watson, who has stayed on the field, is a big part of that. He is WR3 this season. The Packers face the Lions, whose defense has been struggling. I think Watson will be a big factor for the Packers again as they try to move to 5-2.
Sit: Brian Thomas, Jr., Jacksonville Jaguars
About: Thomas has again struggled. Again, there are trade talks. Will Thomas be moved? That’s a question that should be answered soon. It is clear he’s not a good fit for the Jaguars. He was benched last week and is still a long way from returning consistent starting value. I’ll keep him on the bench until we see a better situation develop.
Tight Ends

Start: Sam LaPorta, Detroit Lions
About: LaPorta was in the news this week because he is awaiting a new contract. He made it clear that if he doesn’t get that in Detroit, he’ll get a big deal elsewhere. So, he is auditioning for his next deal this season. And LaPorta has played like that, sitting as TE5 this season. I expect him to keep it up against the Packers.
Sit: Travis Kelce, Kansas City Chiefs
About: Kelce has been solid this season and is a solid asset for the Chiefs. But I expect a low-scoring, defensive struggle in Seattle. I also expect the Seahawks to focus on Kelce and their old friend, Kenneth Walker. So, I’m not trusting Kelce to put up a TE1 game in Week 7.
