Which moves should you make to maximize your points? Use this weekly post as your guide, as I offer one start and one sit suggestion at QB, RB, WR, and TE. These suggestions are based on my rankings compared to the consensus each week. To measure our success, check back each week for a recap of how I did.
For this project, a start is a player I think will finish in the Top 12 at QB or TE and the Top 24 at RB or WR. A sit is a player I think will finish outside those metrics. In the coming weeks, I’ll start with a recap of how I finished the prior week. All scoring will be courtesy of Fantasy Pros.
Before we move forward, let’s see how we did in Week 4.
Week 4 Starts:
QB: Kirk Cousins, QB4 Hit. Cousins remains hot.
RB: Jeremiyah Love, RB41 Miss. I hate the Cardinals.
WR: Jordan Addison, WR47 Miss. Murray only had eyes for T.J. Hockenson.
TE: Travis Kelce, TE32 Miss. Not his week.
Start Record: 1-3, thank God for Kirk Cousins, I guess.
Week 4 Sits:
QB: Drake Maye, QB1 Miss. Well, Maye found himself again in Buffalo.
RB: Alvin Kamara, RB9 Miss. Kamara found the fountain of youth, and the end zone.
WR: Rome Odunze, WR21 Miss. I guess being on this list was good for all these people.
TE: Tucker Kraft, TE5 Miss. Kraft showing signs of life.
Sit Record: 0-4, which is impressive, really.
Now, on to the Week 5 picks!
Quarterbacks

Start: Deshaun Watson, Cleveland Browns
About: I know, I can’t believe I just typed that name, either. When the season began, I suspected this was the last gasp for Watson. And Week 1in Jacksonville sort of seemed to confirm that, despite some garbage time production. But a funny thing happened after. The Browns have won three straight and now sit at 3-1, tied atop the AFC North. Now, after a 10-day layoff, they get to play the New York Jets. For some reason, the Jets are still favored. That’s a mistake. Watson is QB12 on the season. He hasn’t had fewer than 13.9 fantasy points in any game. That’s some consistency. And he should be in for another strong day as the Browns push for 4-1 in New York. He’s a start for me this week.
Sit: Jordan Love, Green Bay Packers
About: Love came into last season as an MVP candidate. But we never really saw it. We’re still waiting. Worse yet, if you were hoping for a high-end starter in fantasy, you’re also disappointed. This is a big, home matchup with the rival Bears. You’d like to bet on Love, especially with the Packers’ lack of run game. But sadly, you can’t count on him. He’s QB14 on the season, and I don’t see him being Top 12 against Chicago.
Running Backs

Start: R.J. Harvey, Denver Broncos
About: The Broncos’ running game practically doesn’t exist. So, you’re asking yourself, why is Harvey on this list? Well, quite simply, he’s been Bo Nix’s favorite receiver. And those catches, along with how hard he runs, has been keeping him a viable option in fantasy. Now, with Sean Payton and his love of screens back calling the plays, I suspect we’re only going to see more out of Harvey, who is RB28 on the year, but averaging 12.7 points per game when he does play. I like him against the Chargers this week.
Sit: David Montgomery, Houston Texans
About: I liked the signing of Montgomery this off-season. I thought he’d be a fit for the Texans, who need more of a running game. The problem is the line, and the fact it can’t open holes. Montgomery is currently RB23 on the season, but that’s thanks to a touchdown-inspired 28.9 points in Week 1. Since that point, he’s had fewer than seven points in each game, and fewer than five points in two of the three games. The 0-4 Texans are desperate, but I can’t trust Montgomery to get enough run behind this poor offensive line.
Wide Receivers

Start: Drake London, Atlanta Falcons
About: I like London and his talent, but the Falcons’ offense was a mess to start the season. Since Michael Penix, Jr., returned, the Falcons’ offense has taken off. And that’s been great for London, who is WR5 the past two weeks since Penix returned. The Falcons, in their third straight Prime Time game, will face a depleted Ravens squad Sunday night. I like London to make a difference in the air.
Sit: Dontayvion Wicks, Philadelphia Eagles
About: The Eagles need pass catchers and need offense. That’s especially true with Dallas Goedert out and DeVonta Smith ailing. And yet, Wicks has actually taken a step back the past two weeks. He’s only WR85, behind both Smith—who missed Week 4—and rookie Makai Lemon, who’s been a disappointment. He’s out of my lineup.
Tight Ends

Start: Mike Gesicki, Cincinnati Bengals
About: Gesicki has been a key part of the Bengals’ pass offense, especially when the team’s receivers are banged up. He’s TE12 this season despite a goose egg in Week 2. But, facing the Dolphins with both Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins banged up, I suspect Gesicki will again be a favorite target for Joe Burrow, especially in the end zone.
Sit: Isaiah Likely, New York Giants
About: I like Likely’s talent, and I like the signing in New York. But much like the rest of the offense, his role has been inconsistent. He had a monster Week 1 and a solid Week 4, which are propping up his averages. But it’s hard to know who is going to be featured, or if this Giants’ offense is going to be able to move the ball at all. It’s a decent matchup against the Commanders, but I don’t trust Likely to get consistent targets.
